Yeah I don’t really get the point of doing this. I’m surprised so many folks are excited for it. I was initially, just because it was a knee jerk reaction of excitement re: MGS news. But the more I pondered it, the more I realized I’m offended they’re even doing this.
Yeah, it’s weird. I mean, this isn’t a remake. It’s the same game with a graphical coat of paint (and tweaked controls?) but they’re using the 2004 motion captures and voice recordings?
The faces somehow all look worse too. This whole thing reminds me of that texture mod meme.
Not to be a Kojima bootlicker, but it really is damning that all these trailers have none of the flair all of his did. No one has the guts for a 10 minute trailer at Konami now I guess.
Edit: The man himself seems to be editing a new trailer as we speak lmao. x.com
I’m really looking forward to South of Midnight now, though I might have to wait for an eventual PS5 release since my PC is getting to the point where it’s a bit behind the times now
Well, it was to be expected, wasn’t it? I mean, I thought they’d release that late Spring or early Summer at best (and because of a good reason).
But a thing that has happened for a while is that I’ve seen a lot of games having a release date 1-2 months before.
It’s hard to look forward to something when every AAA release seems to have issues and no one knows if the games are good until they’re out anyway. At least with an album the singles will give you a general idea.
Or maybe I’m old, too?
Monster Hunter: Wilds comes out next week, but I probably won’t get to enjoy it because it runs like ass, the RTX 50 series launch is a shit show… And AMD don’t seem interested in meaningfully competing.
