Anti-patient Antici-pation: Games we're looking forward to in the year 2025

Yeah I don’t really get the point of doing this. I’m surprised so many folks are excited for it. I was initially, just because it was a knee jerk reaction of excitement re: MGS news. But the more I pondered it, the more I realized I’m offended they’re even doing this.

Leave MGS3 alone, I say.

Yeah, it’s weird. I mean, this isn’t a remake. It’s the same game with a graphical coat of paint (and tweaked controls?) but they’re using the 2004 motion captures and voice recordings?

The faces somehow all look worse too. This whole thing reminds me of that texture mod meme.

wait MGSDelta isn’t even a MGSV esque remake of 3? Wasn’t that the point of remaking them?

the only studio that can be trusted with Metal Gear is actually Bloober Team

I’d let Capcom take a shot at it.

Maybe RGG Studios too.

Not to be a Kojima bootlicker, but it really is damning that all these trailers have none of the flair all of his did. No one has the guts for a 10 minute trailer at Konami now I guess.

Edit: The man himself seems to be editing a new trailer as we speak lmao. x.com

I’m not looking forward to anything game related. I think I’m officially an old.

Or, positive spin, maybe you just know your tastes really well now and can make better decisions.

It’s probably in between honestly, It’s February in Illinois and that is probably also affecting my outlook.

I’m really looking forward to South of Midnight now, though I might have to wait for an eventual PS5 release since my PC is getting to the point where it’s a bit behind the times now

Some thoughts:

The Rusty Rabbit demo made me lose interest in the game.

With Q1 2025 half over, it feels like a release date or another delay is imminent for Demonschool.

I’m worried that Doom: The Dark Ages will follow Doom Eternal’s path of not understanding why the story in worked in the 2016 Doom.

I am 100% ready for the next trailer for Death Standing 2: On the Beach. The trailers were the best part of the first one.

Well, it was to be expected, wasn’t it? I mean, I thought they’d release that late Spring or early Summer at best (and because of a good reason).
But a thing that has happened for a while is that I’ve seen a lot of games having a release date 1-2 months before.

It’s hard to look forward to something when every AAA release seems to have issues and no one knows if the games are good until they’re out anyway. At least with an album the singles will give you a general idea.

Or maybe I’m old, too?

Monster Hunter: Wilds comes out next week, but I probably won’t get to enjoy it because it runs like ass, the RTX 50 series launch is a shit show… And AMD don’t seem interested in meaningfully competing.

Desperately need a release date for this game

There’s a steam next fest that’s about to start, so some fresh demos have started rolling in.

Everhood 2 is a big one.
Maze Mice from Trampoline Tales (Luck Be a Landlord) also dropped a demo yesterday.
Excited to see what else pops up.

The only one I’ve spotted is this sequel to Demon Turf
