Hope you don’t mind a late reply here. I got the LCD before OLED was a thing and the screen truly sucks. The brightness levels are good. It gets very dim and that’s good for playing before bed. Colours are okay. Not good, but passable.

The contrast sucks. It’s really bad. It’s perfectly playable, but it’s a disservice to some beautiful games. I liken it to people playing games on TN panel monitors and being shocked when they get a better monitor and everything suddenly looks way better.

That said, I do not regret my purchase. I definitely notice these things more than others just due to being an artist, but if I knew what the LCD looked like and the OLED was available, I would have waited for a sale on the OLED. On the other hand, I’m very happy I got it sooner anyway and the price sort of justifies the shitty screen. I would have missed out on a year+ fairly transformative experience with games I might not have played otherwise.
