@kory#29433 Thanks!! I’ll dig some more up. Vivian def has a whole vibe to her. More personality than I’ve ever experienced in a cat.
@exodus#29435 Walter is an oily grease monster, sometimes. It’s one of the things I learned about after bringing him home. The little black outline around his nose is oil. I’ve had to give him sponge baths every once and a while. It’s not the most pleasant experience for either of us.
Walter’s “market value” was astronomical before they had him fixed. The family he was with was just looking to rehouse him so I didn’t pay anything crazy, but his babies from when he was being used as a stud…were insanely expensive.
@milo#29437 Oh, they know stuff. Walter’s whole vibe is being all powerful and knowing everything, except how to keep himself warm.
@fetus8#29428 Walter and Vivian are super cute! I have a close friend who has a Sphinx cat and lives with him in a studio apartment, where he‘s an absolute terror much of the time but is also very cute. I’ve met him several times, and while I‘m usually pretty good with cats, this guy stares at me for a long time before trying to murder me. One day! One day I’ll make friends with him! The last time I saw him in person, he let me feed him treats (before moving on to attempted murder), which my friend says is a good sign? We'll see!
Well, to combine the two threads, here is a picture of a cat and a dog taken a long time ago at my parents house. The dog has now been dead for around 8 years, but the cat is still alive and well, although she is getting on in years. They used to love cuddling together.
@Karasu#29453 Thanks!! Walter is big on staring but he just wants to be petted and any and all attention, anyone provides. He’s almost overly friendly even with strangers.
I’m going to be visiting her later this month so I can take a newer picture of him and my mom’s other cat.
I am very much a cat person so I can’t believe I didn’t know this thread existed or think to search for it after seeing the dogs thread. Your animals are all so beautiful, my stars.
@“tapevulture”#p52747 You got a really classic old cat/new cat situation going on over there!
I like looking at cats and pictures of cats so keep on doing it y‘all. I’d have a cat too if I didn't already have a dog (mostly because it complicates the dog needing to go out/not wanting the cat to do out)
After two years of owning a dog, my sister just adopted a baby cat from a shelter.
The cat immediately asserted his dominance! The chair he's sitting in here had, until his appearance, been known as "the dog's chair," but now it's his! And apparently, as soon as he left the chair, the dog hopped back into her old spot lol.
But according to my sister, the addition of the cat has made the dog happier and more tuckered out at the end of the day, because they get along great and play together.
Over last November one of my favorite dog friends moved out (A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Amelia), but a truly decadent, large cat moved in (a tabby named Big Mac). He‘s built like a bear and hits like one too. Looks chubby, but that’s all muscle. Very dense. I love him. Here are some select photos:
An excellent cat, well behaved, never jumps onto any counters or eats any food that's not his. He's polite and plays gently with guests, but does maul my hand when playing. It does look like it's been attacked by a bear. According to his dad, he was a morgue cat when he was still a stray.
