I agree, indoors is the way to go. We have screens on all our windows, so we can open them when the weather is nice to get some fresh air for our cats (and us people, I guess).
I really believe in harnesses for cats. Try it out and see if they get something out of it.
I recently did some rearranging in my room after getting a new chair to replace my old sofa. I was afraid Big Mac might not like the change that much, but he instantly fell in love with it, to the point of stealing it almost every night since I set everything up. Last night he walked right up to me while I was getting ready to read, I sat on the floor while he crawled onto the chair to curl up and sleep. Thankfully he let me have it for the rest of the night after an hour or two passed. I think he might like the texture and how low to the ground it is. He doesn’t even need to really jump on it!
Tabbies have always been a main stay in my life!
They’re the ur-kitty. That’s not really the right meaning. They’re the kitty from which the cat mold was struck.
Just like me frfr
Is that your cat on a blanket featuring Louis Wain art?
yes! I have two such blankets. The other one is the radiating psychodelic cat that I’m sure you’re familiar with.
wha…what kind of snack you got there behind the coffee?
They’re Hojuelitas. it was a care package from my family back home, I have not been able to find these chips (or coffee) in my city so I was pretty happy. Anyways Friday doesn’t care for them too much which is great.
omg bonsai what a sweet face ;~;
Ok I actually need some advice as Friday is my first cat. He’s 7 months old and recently he’s become a goblin. He’s always had a lot of energy but recently his actions can best be described as nefarious. He has one of those string wands that I use to tire him out so he can chill out but the energy just seems endless these days.
My worry is that he’s bored and his need for stimulation is what is annoying at times. But we have a small apartment and don’t have a lot of space for him to go crazy in or for bigger toys like those cat tunnels and such. Should I be concerned that I need better toys for him bc he seems uninterested in them now or is this just a phase?
He’s a good kitty but has been quite sassy these last few days.
they get tired of toys pretty quickly so putting the ones he’s bored with away for a while and cycling in new ones helps. What really seems to help my cat burn energy is taking treats she likes and skidding them across the floor and goes chasing after them. We do that for a while at a consistent time every day and after that she’s like ok I’m good, I did my hunting
I’m going to walk to my central american grocery and see if they have them. I’ve been hooked on the doritos in the red bag they sell in mexico for years. The kind that taste a little like jalapeno maybe onion and cheese.
Rather than buying new toys right away I would try adding garbage lol if you haven’t already: I mean like empty cardboard boxes he can play in, pieces of paper crumpled into a ball you can roll but loosely enough that they retain their crumple, sheets of tissue paper or paper bags etc. Cats I’ve known more often than not go ape for these things, I reckon for the sensory play. Boxes offer a hiding spot to pounce from and you can also scratch on the outside with your fingernails while he’s in there and see how he reacts.
My cat likes the plastic springs. She can play by herself with them pouncing and pretending she’s hunting. And she even likes playing fetch with them better than my dog can
