I read your introduction. I’m a fellow mechanical engineering grad.

I’m too am a Metroid super fan, but the series doesn’t have words that hit as hard as the ones in the material science domain.

Actually, cementite does sound like a Metroid word and it a real word. Something you could break with some kind of plasma bomb.

If you scan a tunnel you’re walking through and it’s made of cementite, you’re definitely power-bombing that tunnel later. On the other hand, “Carbide Suit” also sounds pretty sick.

Persnickety, especially to describe something that requires a lot of toggling, fiddling, or great care to get just right. Most forum members are experienced in the more persnickety tasks in gaming: emulator setup, hooking up original hardware, playing an imported game, and so on.
