Checks out. He was developing a game in black and white after all. Just another part of why that is my favorite photograph of all human history.
Love this pic of Sakaguchi using 6 apple devices to create Fantasian
And the diorama process is neat – this is what video game development should look like!
Posted anonymously on Twitter with caption “2005”. Feels on brand for Insert Credit. I was playing stuff like this on setups like this around this time, looking back it’s such a cool amalgamation, someone who isn’t in the know would perhaps be challenged dating it. “You mean there were video game hipsters in 2005?” This was before gameboys 20th anniversary awoke the mainstream retro gamers.
And oh man I just noticed the beck poster

that conspicuously-placed half red gacha ball on the desk …!
that’s right. once again-- it’s everything about this photo. The best description from the lips of satoshi tajiri is that pokemon is everything he likes rolled into one.
Here’s a beautiful one I found in my images folder that I don’t remember. Kids playing Yoshi no Tamago for family computer (developed by Game Freak in order to fund the development of Pocket Monsters) That girls’ overalls + sweatshirt earth tones are to die for.
Also hope you don’t mind if I just dump these screenshots from the SH2 documentary.
and this one, idyllic :
She works for channel 2 minnesota, and is a huge twin peaks fan. she takes notes on the show. this is her station.
Don’t forget Da Classics: composers in their studios surrounded by equipment that is now old enough to be interesting in completely different ways!
Yoko Shimomura in the lab!
Baby Yuzo Koshiro cooking up a feast on that mac!
Yasunori Mitsuda and like a hundred genelecs!
Nobuo Uematsu, uh, in his living room!
Holy calzone

Love the Microsoft wingman which is major key the alpha version of the duke and was literally a Saturn controllers with Xbox duke feeling buttons.
Finally got everything put away to where I can see what I’m working with now. This is just the beginning of figuring out how I want this space to flow. There are moments with the keyboard, beige monitor, beige mail sorter (the one on the JVC stack) beige layaway box, and piggy clock, all work together to transport me to another time.
This setup sucks and using the computer sucks right now. Lol
It’s so funny that either of these guys could exactly be my serious high school boyfriend from that exact year—and this is a photo from back then of that same boyfriend’s bedroom computer desk
Hard to pick out my favorite detail that takes me exactly back to the time and place but it might be the Jones Soda caps on the left monitor
Ok got some semblance of organization and using it as a standing desk vibing to Feminine Fusion on this rainy day.. this is the life…
