DIY and repurpose rather than buying new

This is one of my favorite thing. I’d rather build or repurpose rather than buying a readymade solution.

This is a recent that I have found to be useful. I can create as much clutter as I have space to do so. Looking at solution for my coffee table cruft. You can get a magazine holder for almost free if you go to the thrift store long enough. I put a pice of foam rubber at the bottom so the wood doesn’t scratch or dent the laptops and tablets. It also keeps the usb c ports exposed for charging.

A diy pro tip is grabbing a cushion off a couch when you see one on the side of the street. Foam rubber is expensive and you can just get it for free. It’s always useful when you need something padded for its new function.

Nice old fashioned toolbox. That style itself is also easily made with the tools it’s made to hold.
I hope I don’t forget about this thread. Maybe as I dismantle my camper van I’ll have plenty of photos for it, or as I continue to build stuff in my life I’ll remember to post here.

“Always get cushions” is also something my dad taught me.

I’m still in the process of moving my entire life’s collection of hand tools out of my van. We’re making the spare room of the apartment into the crafting room. It’s gonna be great. :o)

Small thing but I used to have the protoboard for my DDR dance pad just exposed and laying there until I realized I had a broken hdmi splitter that was to the exact size of my protoboard so I used the case for that. It’s still a bit janky cause I can’t close it but at least I managed to get the cables for each arrow into each output hole

Oh very nice’! I still want a hard acrylic pad. I’ve wanted one since the game was in the zeitgeist but other things keep taking purity

It’s just a wood magazine rack. It must looks shorter from above

Oh I see! similar shape. we have one of those too that I found at the thrift store which also has a small end table over the rack! perfect for beside the TV stand with a speaker on it, we put our video game guides and magazines in it.
