Sleepy baybay.
Trying to get Halloween pics off my dog but he is absolutely over it. I keep finding these high quality medical models. I guess it’s a bonus of living near a university?
Let me tell you, it’s fucking rough hearing that there’s not much that can be done for your heart dog’s leg issues and he’s basically in palliative care :/ Probably a poor choice of words on the vet’s part, but it stings hearing that we have a finite time with him, however long that may be.
Hoping it’s a while yet, I’m not looking forward to a life that isn’t filled with moments like these:
Love ya, Mo
Really feeling for you - if pocket (who is sleeping next to me) doesn’t live exactly as long as I do the universe is going to get a reckoning.
I’m hoping it really was just bad phrasing and your buddy will live many more happy years, even if there’s nothing you can do for that particular problem.
I think it was not great phrasing, I think it was more meant in the “he’ll have this unbeatable condition for the rest of his days, you’ll just need to make sure he’s comfortable” etc. I just verified that the exact definition refers to terminal illnesses which he definitely doesn’t have, but it’s definitely going to get to a point where if it pains him too much to eat or poop, we’ll have to make the call.
On the bright/cute side though, we’ll be taking him to physiotherapy soon, and there’s a chance we might get to see him doing this:
The other bright side is that he doesn’t have anything else in his bloods that raises concern, which is wonderful news for such an old grey (he just turned 12!) who’s an ex-racer.
While he still has his goofy/silly moments and wags his tail, he’ll be sticking around
PS. When you read this, give Pocket a cuddle from me
Is the pumpkin also depicting your dog?
Yes it is!
@MoH Anytime I open this thread and see the little one!
I took this photo of Ruby recently and something with the perspective just looks really funny to me. Her head looks huge and she looks like she’s on a different plane from the ground.
Missing my buddy because he has to stay at a kennel while I attend a wedding.
I take too many pics of this guy.
Never too many!!!
I hope he doesn’t mind it there too much! We’ve never used one for our dogs because I’m worried one of them in particular would explode (or at least backslide significantly in his behaviors)
@exodus do you use friends/family to dog-sit when traveling?
So farrrrrr it just means my partner and I can’t go on vacation at the same time. We haven’t figured out what to do yet :o
Me too! He’s a very anxious dog and isn’t the greatest with new people. Supposedly he’s doing well so far. So fingers crossed.
