Drink check thread

Just doing a case swap on my ITX PC and having some water out of a comically large Nalgene bottle.

water by the fire out of a piss green nalgene!! after finishing off some kind of wine out of a brandy snifter.

You know, a part of me wishes I‘d saved the Spirit Bomb and Bob Ross energy drinks I bought off FYE for this thread. But alas, I already drank both of them to ring in 2022. >!They’re the exact same drink.!<

@“antillese”#p53077 Update: Vanguard Brewing Co‘s “Puky Pale Pale Ale” is alright. It’s fine.

@“hellomrkearns”#p53076 nice! I dig this design

Got this as a holiday gift. More like a fruit purée than a beer. This is the last of 4. I enjoyed them all.

this stuff is so good!!! I first had it at a Szechuan restaurant and it went so perfectly with the spice

Hooray finally done with work and ready to start the weekend with a different drink to check.

I just realized this is a good place to share wine recommendations.

I am starting with pretty expensive stuff so just memo these names for your next Barmitzvah, but this is what I had today during a pretty highbrow saturday meal. (Hands not mine.)

[upl-image-preview url=//i.imgur.com/AYLAdKX.jpeg]

**Auguste Clape Cornas 2017**
https://www.vivino.com/US/en/auguste-clape-cornas/w/92366?year=2017
Classic Rhône red, perfect with savory meat and soups or celery mash. This wine is life.

[upl-image-preview url=//i.imgur.com/6MQWXlV.jpeg]

**Armand Pommard 1er Cru 2015**
https://www.vivino.com/US/en/comte-armand-pommard-1er-cru-clos-des-epeneaux-monopole/w/1129143?year=2015
A well rounded Pinot, well suited for Duck and such meats, or blue cheese.

But these are pretty bonkers prices I see for import so let me add three reasonable California classics I am always happy to see on a menu. (Hands not mine, again.)

[upl-image-preview url=//i.imgur.com/olQ9Pme.jpeg]

**Slam Dunk**
https://www.vivino.com/US-CA/en/slam-dunk-red/w/8980339?year=2020&price_id=27106708
Fantastic value for money, this is just as good as many posh French red wines priced with an extra 0 on the menu. It’s also a very versatile wine that you can slot in the rotation at any point in the menu. Also it has the same name as a great manga so what more can you ask?

[upl-image-preview url=//i.imgur.com/IgZIaI8.jpeg]

**Conundrum**
https://www.vivino.com/US/en/conundrum-wines-red-blend-california/w/4218931
Another awesome Zinfandel. Much stronger so better if not the only wine on the roster that night, and highly recommended as the last wine of the night, because you’ll still taste Conundrum on the next bottle otherwise. I swear this wine has an aphrodisiac power, as well.

[upl-image-preview url=//i.imgur.com/lwH86jC.jpeg]

**Bread and Butter**
https://www.vivino.com/JP/en/bread-and-butter-chardonnay/w/1755251
One of the best and most well known Chardonnay wines on the market nowadays. Not necessarily my style (I am more the [Alsace pinot gris](https://www.vivino.com/grapes/pinot-gris) type for whites) but super welcoming wine for newcomers, with those distinctive buttery notes and super aromatic aftertaste. You won’t win any cool points with this choice but it’s the safest pick for the smoothest lick.

@“chazumaru”#p53125 really appreciate this and hope others share their recommendations! I know very little about wine and am usually overwhelmed when it comes to picking a bottle.

can we set some ground rules no making fun of what people (me) for what they have to consume due to social or relationship circumstances

@“After that rat, another and another.”#p53159 I can’t promise anything if the Bulls pick terrible champagne for their victory parade in June.

@“After that rat, another and another.”#p53159 Thought that went without saying in general on this whole forum. If one scrolls through this thread, lotta people posting water, lotta people posting beer, lotta people posting energy drinks, lotta people posting non-caffeinated teas. :+1:

@“chazumaru”#p53161 what would you recommend? I'll email customer service with your picks

@“antillese”#p53163 what if i post myself drinking an Iced Beer

no drinking today but “brunch” flavored legal edibles (close to $40 after tax). This is the coolest way to take drugs

@“tapevulture”#p53194 Iced Beer

vietnamese food in the summer w iced beer is pretty nice

@“thebryanjzx90”#p53117 Old Belgium says hi

Oh I‘ll make a cheap wines recommendation list in a bit! But I only like acidic dry stuff (chianti, garnacha, sangiovese, tempranillo) so it’ll have a specific bent.

Anyway looking forward to trying this wine from the isle of cones that has NO soup in it
[upl-image-preview url=//i.imgur.com/XOy7qNj.jpeg]

(it's probably not my kind of wine at all but I keep making jokes about it so I bought it)
