Driving and racing games are fun!

@billy what would you say are the racing games that are furthest on the sim end of the spectrum?

It’s a solid “sim-cade”. Holds up well with a wheel or controller. Online can be fun, time trials are fun, but the main “career” mode is pretty lame and the grind for credits stinks, weekly time trials are the best way to do it imo. Definitely worth playing and great for driving around just wish it was a bit more. They do drop steady free content updates which is nice.

I guess that would be rFactor/iRacing. Maybe even Assetto Corsa.

I’m absolutely not saying Gran Turismo is bad! I love it! It’s just not the ‘simulation’ the marketing suggests (in a driving sense). My take on it is that’s it’s always been the best audio/visual simulation of driving that’s possible on console at any given time, with simplified driving that’s satisfying to play but approachable enough for normal humans so as to actually sell copies.

As I don’t have a PS5 I missed trying out Sophy AI but all gameplay footage made it look really awesome for single player action. Seeing it upgraded and pushed to every track is pretty huge.
