    {“sticky”:true}

Snoop's done a bunch of sponsored streams and hokey promotional tournaments and so on—he is phenomenally bad at games, and his career as a sponsored streamer ended immediately because they were obviously staged, with the big tell being that the game footage never stopped playing despite him regularly putting down the controller to roll more blunts.

    “Ruby Rhod: The first YouTuber”

sounds like another argument for snoop doing it to me!!!

@exodus It‘s funny you say The Fifth Element is a bad time movie for women, because I totally understand why, but it’s never really occurred to me until you brought it up because every single woman I know who has seen that movie absolutely loves it. I have definitely had more than one woman recount to me a time she cosplayed Leeloo at a con somewhere and referred to her con badge as a “multipass.” I‘m not suggesting that disproves anything, I’m just saying, uh, it's kind of weird now that I think about it!

One of those Leeloo cosplayers I know also once cosplayed the main lady from the anime Mezzo Forte, which DID strike me as incredibly odd at the time. Don't google that one at work!

I think Ice T would be a good american gamecenter cx host. Jamie Lee Curtis would be good too. Saying “Kacho on!” Would be a key part of the interview process.

Afraid I have to disagree about Ryan Reynolds. He has rat eyes.

Here for the Jupiter Ascending appreciation minute. That movie was bonkers. It felt like someone got an unlimited budget to make their self-insert fanfic a movie, in the best way possible. I love it. I wish there was a generic action-adventure game adaptation of it.

@yeso#10419 Jamie Lee Curtis is my favorite suggestion so far!

The fire element clearly is Lair for the PS3 I'm completely baffled no one realized that.

There is a game design master class by Will Wright:

    https://www.masterclass.com/classes/will-wright-teaches-game-design-and-theory

@GigaSlime#10412 I‘ve seen both reactions but the most recent reaction was in 2019 and yeah… not such a positive one, ha ha. she’s got that sexy infant thing going on which is such a weird trend.

@rkabir#10440 There is a game design master class by Will Wright:

Has anyone watched through any of these master classes before? I'm curious what impressions people have.

I see ads for them and think "I'd watch a bunch of lectures by that particular person on this particular topic," but then I click on the Will Wright link for example and see that the course is only a little over 4 hours long. A typical semester long college course is around \~30 hours worth of lectures! So 4 hours doesn't really seem like much. That, combined with the skepticism I feel towards anything that is heavily advertised, means I'll probably never watch any. If I want lectures, there's already so many high quality free resources out there.

Oh well. Whatever wisdom WIll Wright has to share with me, I guess I'll be missing out on it.

I feel like it might be something good for teenagers? It's seems like something that might inspire them to think "Oh, I can be a film director," or "Maybe making games wouldn't be that hard."

the quality of questions on this show is high usually but this was a god tier week, great episode!

There's a great video on what was mentioned about Fifth Element:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0thpEyEwi80

Nobody said THE FIREMEN for fire element smh. Kudos for saying Earthbound for Earth though.

@Kez#10621 weird. this was one of two podcasts I listened to this week that mentioned the whole fifth element sexy-baby thing….and then “Tiny” Lister dies…

FYI yall Episodes no longer appear on the patreon unless you are logged in and subscribed.

    Was that a planned change?

    Makes it hard to recommend.

“How can video games reward and encourage patience?”

I am reminded of the puzzle in Sword & Sworcery that relied on the actual real world current phase of the moon. Apparently there was a way to cheat it by changing your set date, but I was deployed on a ship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean for three months and had nothing but time so I waited 2 whole weeks in order to solve it.

Any game where this kind of calendar/clock hacking happens is probably a game that was trying to teach you patience in some way.

@PhantomPhotom#10813 hmm! that’s probably something i‘m doing. I’ll look into it tonight, thank you for the heads up.

@saddleblasters#10448 I have never done the Masterclass thing, but i *do* greatly enjoy The Great Courses, which is university professors giving whole courses. There's a streaming service with hundreds of them, on topics as varied as Sleep Science, Native American History, Ancient Cooking, Photography Basics and a ton more. Each "course" is usually 26 half hour lectures!! Not a whole lot on games or game design, but I love it for all the weird stuff.
