I forgot today was a Monday. Nice surprise!

if nothing else, this (yet again excellent) episode has led me to once again have the thought “i really should play that god of war 2018”

do people who lose on violence island die? I nominated takahashi meijin way back when and I'd feel bad if he was killed by sephiroth

@““I thought lethal weapon was safe…yeah.””#p71705 they don‘t always die necessarily, but some definitely do. I forget whether meijin died but I’m sure he has additional lives remaining if he did.

A chiropractor‘s office in town offered a bunch of vouchers for free massages at my workplace last year, and to get it you had to make an appointment and consult with the chiropractor to find out all the things that are wrong with your spine so you can get sweet-talked into scheduling regular exams and adjustments and such. When I said I just wanted the massage, the guy was like "Okay, sure, if you want to just let it get worse, that’s cool" which made me want to start researching how to encourage scoliosis out of spite

here is 8hrs of reasons why bomberman is the clear winner vs Sephiroth

bomberman is an android, can ride Rooi , the resourceful kangaroos

    and has his own planet.

The untitled goose from the untitled good game has canonically died in violence island (not sure if they have also canonically died within the untitled goose game canon). If I remember correctly, either Leisure Suit Larry or Lester the Unlikely might have also canonically died in the last iteration of Violence Island, in [Episode 234: Come Play, My Laggardly Sort, feat. Kris Graft.](https://forums.insertcredit.com/d/1474-ep-234-come-play-my-laggardly-sort-with-kris-graft) I would relisten to confirm but I am also hungry and want to go eat some tourtiere so I am going to do that instead.

Alex Jaffe might be actually keeping track of this information but that's what I recall off of the top of my head.

At the risk of wading into treacherous waters, I have a very similar back problem to Tim, and have been seeing a physiotherapist rather than a chiro. The latter have such a bad reputation for pseudoscience and bad ethics that I never really considered it. Theoretically a physio will focus more on massaging muscles than joint manipulation but a reputable chiro will probably treat back pain very similarly to a physio so I guess it comes down to what you have access to (geographically & financially) and are comfortable with.

@“Gaagaagiins”#p71741 I think I have the answer (sort of): in episode 187 the panel discussed if Amy Rose killed Cream the Rabbit, and it was decided that it's up to the winning contestant if they spare the life of their opponent. So a “murderous” character would be predisposed to fight to the death.

So the question is would sephiroth want to kill takahashi meijin. I personally don't think so. not his style

    @“goonbag”#p71749 physio

PTs have a heck of a lot of training and education, they really know their shit !

    >

@“esper”#p71672 What would we do if we bought EA?

normally I dont answer questions until i hear the podcast but as a former EA employee my first order of business is to get rid of the awful "absolutely no side work" employee contract

I‘ll echo Brandon’s concerns from the show, and @“goonbag”#p71749 's above and very politely beg you all to never visit a chiropractor. They are not doctors. I know it is not exactly the most reliable thing in the world, but the first line of the Wikipedia article on chiropractic states:

    >

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially of the spine. It has esoteric origins and is based on several pseudoscientific ideas.

..and leave you with a brilliant quote from Tim Minchin (easy to discount as he is a comedian, but he's really on point most of the time)

    >

You know what they call alternative medicine that's been proved to work? - Medicine.

I hate to be persnickety, but I feel compelled to ask why Gex, the winner of Violence Island from episode 193 (“The Gex Hive” with Ian Bogost and Ash Parrish) was excluded from the shadowban tournament?

Also, episode 187 ("Revealed: What War is Actually Good For" with Gene Park) features a Violence Island segment involving Sonic characters in which Blaze the Cat defeats Shadow the Hedgehog - I understand this was not an official VI round, but one can't help but wonder how Blaze might have fared in the main competition...

Furthermore, "Leisure Suit" Larry Laffer made two appearances (defeated by Kratos in the first round in ep 205 "A Richness Of Embarassments" with Kelsey Lewin, then defeating (and in fact ending the life of) Lester the Unlikely before losing in the second round to Col Volgin in ep 234 "Come Play, My Laggardly Sort" with Kris Graft). Why was Larry allowed back on the island? Lester The Unlikely might still be with us today if not for this oversight.

And in case anyone is curious about the paths to victory of the shadowbanned contestants:

    **Bomberman**
Bombman and Mighty Bombjack (3 way fight), Minecraft Steve, 6 chocobo (initially 10, but 4 were killed in earlier rounds), def. by Sephiroth

    **The King Of All Cosmos**
Wander, Chibi Robo, Sekiro, def. by Takahashi Meijin

    **The Raving Rabbids** (67.39 million)
The Rub Rabbits, Gabriel Belmont, Linkle, def. by Kratos

    **Col. Volgin**
Pikachu, "Leisure Suit" Larry Laffer, Goro Majima, def. by Shadow The Hedgehog

    **Shadow The Hedgehog**
Wario, Plok, Jazz Jackrabbit, Col Volgin - def. by Kratos

    **Takahashi** **Meijin**
Billy Mitchell, a cacodemon, AiAi, The King Of All Cosmos, def. by Sephiroth

    **Sephiroth**
Mallow and a likitu (2 v 1), Trouble Bruin, the Hollow Knight, Bomberman, Takahashi Meijin, def by Kratos

    **Kratos**
"Leisure Suit" Larry Laffer, Axle (Twisted Metal), Tim (Braid), The Raving Rabbids (determined to be 67.39 million in number), Shadow The Hedgehog, Sephiroth

Anecdotal Chiro story for y'all, trying to be neutral(ish).

My ex roped me into going to a free Chiro consult, they tried to tell me my nervous system was not functioning correctly after testing me. The test was pinching your pinky and thumb together without the support of other fingers, if the the chiropractor can force your pinky and thumb apart, you've got serious problems apparently. I've tried this test on most of my friends since that day and none have had the grip strength to oppose it. Either they're all terribly ill or the chiropractor was pulling my leg. If Tim is lurking on here, I've got one word for you, **physiotherapy**.

@““I thought lethal weapon was safe…yeah.””#p71775 lots of really good questions here that I hope @Jaffe can answer

I forgot to put that one in my notes, probably. To correct this, I'll automatically seed Gex into Season 2.

Anyone who loses is allowed back on the island at any time. It's only the winners who are excluded for life.

holy shit I had the same reaction to the Ghost of Tsushima Digital Deluxe Horse, I took the black horsey

@“marlfuchs2”#p71792 perhaps this dynamic is at the heart of the Death Stranding 2 MGS2-esque twist: Deluxe Edition Consumers will have Guillermo Del Toro replaced by Werner Herzog, who repeatedly directly addresses the player with a fawning obsequiousness that is impossible to separate from outright sarcasm
