I keep thinking this whole gimmick is just an incredibly long setup for the inevitable future episode recorded in about two or three years, right after the panel has learned Embracer will buy Forever.

Always cool to get feedback from these events, even when the feedback is "the event wasn’t that fun to attend”. Too bad (for the podcast specifically) you could not attend [BIC](https://bicfest.org/) instead, as I suspect you would have had way more peculiar stories to collect and share (likely at the expense of your game’s efficient promotion).

Here are a bunch of big Chinese folk heroes in Busan. Sangoku Warriors?

    … more like Sangoku _Wall_-iors!

if I was in the audience when the last of us joel started his acoustic set I would have pulled the fire alarm

I wasn’t bored with this show at all. I always appreciate hearing about your genuine engagement with art/media and this particular episode was no slouch in that regard. I’ve done similar sales/promotional events at ceramics trade shows and they are absolutely draining.

The idea of video game-inspired whiskey sounds goofy. I enjoyed Frank Howley’s story, but the whole time I was wondering what the distiller said about making booze based on a game with that tone.

It was lovely to accompany Brandon through voice break  Have fun in Japan and take care @exodus !

I‘ve always loved Fatty Bear! It’s my favorite game!!

“They don't want you to live here, but they want you to want to live here.” Nailed it. This is the PNW in general, west of the mountains at least. We blame California for the tech bros culture in Portland and Seattle but… it's always been there.*

*Not always always. I think what I really mean is the same forces that gave rise to tech bros in SF simultaneously gave rise to it in Seattle.~~~~

Makes sense. Who wouldn't want to live in the PNW when you could go to PAX and see Joel from the last of us cover Fast Car ?

@“RubySunrise”#p83933 I have a suspicion that a lot of the annoying “californians” that move the the PNW are originally from elsewhere, adopt California in the few years they live here, then decide it's too much and leave, kind of making them the worst people because they decided they were too cool for their small town and THEN decided they were too cool for California, bringing a lot of privilege baggage with them. Just my suspicion though!

I‘m glad this episode is fine for folks! I’m sorry about the audio quality! If anyone has ideas for how to make a pixel 6a mic sound better…. let me know.

I like these shows. Reporting from the field with all the background noises.

Good stuff! Excited to hear about Japan too!

i am a huge adventure game fan, and was a little confused when frank and brandon mentioned that there's more adventure games than ever now. is this true? can someone give me some recommendations? besides like obduction and outer wilds, i really havent seen any myst-likes (as i use to call them) around

@“brynn”#p83970 I haven’t had a chance to play it yet, but Perfect Tides is supposed to be quite good. I assume you’re aware ofc of Disco Elysium and Pathologic 2 which despite rpg and survival game stuff respectively are essentially adventure games (and 2 all-time greats)

i played a little of disco, but was pretty put off by all the dialog. (heresy, i know) i like to solve puzzles, and it felt like a lot of work to even get to one. i dunno about pathologic 2, should i start with 1 or?

@“brynn”#p83970 have you seen the stuff from Wadjet Eye, perhaps?

I have played and liked Gemini Rue, Primordia, and Technobabylon from them.

never heard of any of this, will check it out!

Yeah, wadjet eye has been making straight adventure games for the last 15 years. There‘s also darkside detective, some horror ones… There’s a lot out there!

@“rejj”#p83980 This reminds me that I own all of the Blackwell games and I ought to play them.
