Thanks @“exodus”#3 for sharing some of your many adventures. It contained two of my favourite things - Indian food AND Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams!

How did you resist not singing along to Part of your World? =)

The only granola I‘ve seen in China has all been Japanese brands, so I assumed granola was pretty common in Japan. Interesting to hear this is the first time you’ve seen it there.

Had a cozy time listening to this on a train trip from London to Edinburgh with my slime buddy and a cup of green tea!

It was really surreal dozing off and waking up to a concert featuring Australian doraemon. That PS2 devkit sounds amazing and the image of a herse being tolled is a thought provoking one lol. Going to listen to it again on my way home in a few days. Also get better soon @exodus !

I’m still in the middle of listening to it, but I’m loving this episode, Brandon. I have several Japanese friends who are currently working in a Disney production in Orlando. Work takes me down there, and I visit the parks often with them.

I’ve sent the “Part of Your World” clip their way!

A Hard Off is what happens when you've got two Metapods battling each other

I‘ll leave a serious comment, too. I love these travelog episodes. I know it’s been a while since the episode with the audio issues, but the audio quality of this one is great. Y'all have it really figured out now. My favorite small detail was the sound of that PS2 disc spinning in the background.

Those Bye Forever travelogues are always the best. However, I am not sure how @“esper”#11 can work around the Disney song for the Youtube version…

A big difference about this year’s Tokyo Game Show, relayed to me by French journalists afterwards, is that publisher booths have apparently completely stopped preventing people from taking pictures and videos of booths, which they used to do with the famous X stance that any unsuspecting foreigner has probably encountered once in Japan.

It used to be a nightmare to take pictures and videos of booths, but now they not only let you take whatever pics you want but strongly encourage you to share your experience on social media. What a seismic shift for the event and the local industry! Apparently, it was already the case last year but very few journalists came to notice it.

Regarding memory card catalogues, both Sony (in a 10th anniversary PS1/PS2 software history book in collaboration with Dengeki PS2) and [Squaresoft](https://www.gamespot.com/amp-articles/square-to-release-memory-card-data-cd/1100-2542055/) have released official memory card save data collections.

Thanks all! Glad you‘re enjoying, this one felt a little different to make because I wasn’t sure what the drive was at first, and it wound up being more a travelogue kind of thing than usual. I wish I had a gopro or something for biking around the Nara suburbs for game shops.

@"◉◉maru"#p136736 yeah I think the Disney song is gonna cause us trouble because we can't explain that it's a cover... I think covers are allowed on YouTube though?? We'll see I guess! Maybe @espercontrol can find a way to tag it?

@"saddleblasters"#p136719 I hopefully updated this at some point in the show but I had forgotten they did have a lot of granola and I bought some more of another type that I'd had years ago. I was just taken aback by "baked oats" and it knocked the memory out of my brain.

that disney song sounds like… something ive heard before

part of your world, i think?

    from little mermaid

    maybe, im not sure

honestly haven't gone back to watch a disney movie in a hot minute

would be interesting to look at through my lenses now

half way through this ep, im loving it
    thank you brandon :D

    @“Emily”#p136752

now i feel like a silly, reading the previous posts on here, of course its part of your world

    japan seems pretty cool

I‘m making a list of things I’m not going to do right now!!

really loved this episode and making note of some of these places for an eventual japan trip next year!! more episodes of brandon just stumbling into strange scenarios and describing them please

Another fun wandering around Japan episode. I really should go out into further “no tourists would ever go here” areas next time I‘m in Japan. At one point a friend and I got stuck in Nagano for a day. Found a Mandarake there that had both great prices, and also tons of books I’ve never seen in any of the usual spots in Tokyo or Osaka. It was wild. Literally going “Oh no…” when stumbling and having a few other books tilting out of the shelves that we wanted. Then again, that experience can also just be had in Jimbocho if you know where to look.

Good to know BEEP isn't going gaga with prices. I got Gunstar Heroes the last time I was there for a really good price after searching around both Osaka, Kyoto and parts Tokyo. It's always a place I like to browse around in multiple times during my trips. I really wish I could get the song that plays in the stairwell leading into the entrance.

@“JJSignal”#p136778 A lovely secondhand store in Ichinoseki (a city in Iwate prefecture) that was primarily clothing had a cardboard box of random games that hadn’t been “picked over” at all and were all just like 200¥ and I’ve seen similar stuff in towns all over Aomori and Akita too!

Which is to say yeah I super recommend going out of the Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka boundaries for sure!!

Amazing as always. Love these travelogue specials.

    @“hellomrkearns”#p136819

    that elevator action diorama rules

hahah having a limited knowledge of both the lyrics to “part of your world” and of japanese in general really was doing some confusing stuff to my brain, all “look at this stuff, suteki da ne?”

also i love the little boards-of-canada-esque bit of song between sections
