There is, and he’s voiced by Armin Shimerman (Quark from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine).
I’ve never been that gamer but I’d love to meet the person who saw that Dreamcast cover from 2000 and was like “Dude another horse racing game!!”
I was really curious about what Shaq had to say as a video game reviewer in 1994, so I downloaded the November 1994 issue of Game Players and here are some highlights:
“This game is da bomb!” – Shaq, NBA Live '95
“You can block dunks (not mine, no one gets in the the way of a nasty Shaq dunk)” – Shaq, NBA Live '95
“This game’s flava.” – Shaq, Super Street Fighter II
“SSFII can get it up!” – Shaq, Super Street Fighter II
“Although I like the karate action in Shaq-Fu better, I have to give Super Street Fighter II its props.” – Shaq, Super Street Fighter II
“The Shaq can handle the idea of saving the U.S. from a crazy man. I can definitely handle the idea of flying a chopper loaded with guns. And I even thought being healed by Elvis Presley was hell-a-cool.” – Shaq, Urban Strike, this spelling of hella really bothers me
(they gave Shaq-Fu a 77% out of 100 in this issue, but Shaq himself did not review it)
The chainsmoking salaryman is who you’re looking for there!!
Did he say anything about Mickey Mania?
surely the particular martial art in Shaq-Fu is shaq-fu, not karate? i have never played shaq-fu and likely never will.
can “Snake Break” continue as a microsegment on the snake people of video games?
I grew up in Ohio where drive thru convenience stores were a common thing, so seeing a complete lack of them in other areas is odd. We always just called them drive thrus. I’m sure they have to exist, but I’ve never seen an actual drive thru liquor store, all the drive thrus I’ve come across are only licensed to sell beer and wine.
Hoagie spread is a solid recommendation. I’ve always just called them“hots” and even put it on other foods like burgers.
idk I think they could save a whole lotta money on that Bioshock movie if they didn’t have to film the whole thing underwater
Air Bud
Shar Pei Smash Buds: Growl
that was the 1up jingle, not the chaos emerald jingle…
this would be true for sonic, but sonic with a knife has them reversed.
I thought for a moment that question 3 was going to veer into the Atlus Shrugged films. I watched all of the first one long ago and watched ten minutes of the third one last week. The first was unmemorably bad. The ten minutes I saw of the third before going “uh, no” felt like it was trying to do Idiocracy but much worse, with voice over narration sequences about how bad the situation in America was getting. It was probably done to (a) save money and (b) artlessly tell its audience what to think. So I guess a Bioshock film could do that but better?
@tokucowboy Shaq missed an opportunity to say hellacopter.
Free Guy is the first time I can remember my mom liking a movie so much she sat the family down to watch it together.
Ah!! So that’s who that movie was for…
VIOLENCE ISLAND YES!!!
Retirement Island season! Only contestants verified over 66 years old!
I like Violence Island.
I think Tim is right in that doing fan fiction to make the more favourable character win is probably the way to have the most fun with it. The panel seems pretty into the times they teamed up kratos with the rabbids. encouraging that sort of thing may make it more enjoyable for the panel.
make it more of a “playing with action figures” and less of a “debating power levels”
all my favorite things keita takahashi said happened around 2008. here’s an example of one I saved from the Panic! t-shirt collaboration. I like to think my posts have a similar vibe/tone/voice… Considering I was in 9th grade in 2008 searching up any keita takahashi interviews I could find and regarding it as words from above.
“I’d like the army to wear this shirt”
I’ve played so much Shaq Fu, it’s my duty to tell you to continue to not ever play Shaq Fu.
