The game that scared me the most was probably… Rayman 2 as a kid haha
Particularly this part around 3:00 where you encounter the “scary” looking enemies shooting at you absolutely TERRIFIED me when I was 5 years old. I was hugging the wall in the way back trying to build up the courage to fight them.
It’s silly to look back at this footage now, but at that age I had only ever played Super Mario Sunshine heh
i have two picks for “most scared by a video game” and they both happened around the same time in my life of 7 or 8 years old.
i was watching my friend play metal gear solid on the psx and he was at the part with the wolves. for some reason those wolves really scared me and gave me nightmares. i narc’d my friend out and my parents ended up talking to his parents about what stuff we’re allowed to watch on tv together lol.
that same friend also had tomb raider, and again for reasons unknown, lara croft’s butler really freaked me out. i think the emptiness of the mansion environment heightened that feeling for me, what zoomers call liminal spaxe.
I just want to say thank you to all people involved in the show. I started listening to it 3 years ago when i moved abroad. It helped me a lot coping when i was alone before my gf (now my wife) came.
When i had some time i went to the park and had 1 or 2 episodes, it helped me a lot!
I am sorry how things turned out, but i promise that as long as you make them i will keep listening!
does anyone else remember a time when spirit halloween was but one of many seasonal stores that took over abandoned circuit citys? i recall halloween usa, another with pumpkin in the name…
