I never realised it was available on anything else. Or even schools had a budget that included an Apple II. Ours had one, maybe two BBC Micros on its own special trolley that was wheeled into the classroom.
We had one computer shared between two classrooms, and we would get about 30 minutes once a week to use it, in pairs.
My main memories of using the II/e are:
- Podd
- Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego
- getting absolutely nowhere in Kings Quest I
- some game I cannot remember the name of that involved some crystal city? and a dragon?
- Logo, and making the turtle go really far and wrap around the screen and just start filling the whole thing in
- Breaking out of the boot cycle and getting to a command prompt that let you enter in simple Basic programs
I know some people have been waiting, and i have good news: the video version of 378 is up, featuring video of each game discussed
(except for Colors on the Gizmondo. The current Gizmondo emulator doesn’t work for any game other than Alien Hominid)
encountered a game that, like dino crisis 2, is a sequel to a full-3D PS1 game that switched to pre-rendered backgrounds – overblood 2 !!
a little funny since riverhill were mentioned in this same episode but for a totally different reason
Overblood 2 appears to be full 3D unless I’m missing something?
Ahhh okay! While skipping around a longplay I didn’t see the cg bits.
Glad I waited to watch this, thanks again @esper , you did an amazing job. @exodus my friend has that same napalm death hoodie.
Nice - I got it at a show about a year ago and it has become completely destroyed! Falling apart in every way. I wonder if your friend’s is better constructed?
