They’re pulling references to the world map in Donkey Kong Country 3, the Rare stuff hasn’t gone anywhere.

I also want to report that while Tempo on 32X and Game Gear may be chronically alright, Super Tempo on Saturn is the one that has some sauce with cool set-pieces and fun variety. Don’t sit out on it.

Oh man, I would believe that is why Diddy Kong has been (arguably) on the bench recently.
They did also just rerelease Donkey Kong Country Returns where Diddy is the double jump.

On the topic of Diddy Kong, he also appears on merch they recently introduced. These are just from the online store, I am sure you can find plenty more over at the Donkey Kong section in Super Nintendo World as well.
