Japanese collector and youtuber HijiQuish pulled out his HiSaturn, his Sega Digio, his Saturn keyboard, his Saturn Floppy Disk Drive, his Canon printer and the official Saturn Printer adapter released by Koei, and the EGWORD for SegaSaturn CD-ROM to relive, a brief evening, Sega’s dream of a multimedia desktop experience in the mid90s.
This is totally nuts. They’re selling multiple IP in yahoo auctions of all places and asking incredible amounts for them vs their actual worth.
Perhaps I’m not imaginative enough but I can’t imagine a world in which you could even make your money back after buying harukaze sentai v-force for $2.3m. I highly doubt it made that much in its lifetime so far.
Well, I’d say ‘essential’ is not the appropriate description.
It’s highly recommended for two games: Daytona USA Championship Circuit Edition and Sega Touring Car Championship.
It makes Nights into Dreams, Burning Rangers, Croc, Dark Savior and Sega Rally Championship Plus (among others) more comfortable to play.
In any case, it is a sin, a punishable offense and a terrible fashion faux pas to own a Sega Saturn but not own Saturn Bomberman with at least one multitap. So you might as well have one of your 6〜10 Saturn controllers be a 3D controller.
There hasn’t been much made about the 30th Anniversary of the (infamous) American launch of the Saturn a couple days ago but Sega Lord X and Sega Saturn Shiro! have each released a propaganda video personal message on the topic.
But more importantly, we got the results of the 30th Anniversary homebrew competition opened in the SegaXtreme forums back in November.
Definitely a fun and demonstrably incorrect commercial. I think they reused the dropping playstation thing for later commercials too? Maybe I’m just smashing some commercials together in my mind.
I do find it amusing how Sega briefly attempted a “do the math” style commercial series where they talk about how the saturn has “three 32 bit processors” and the playstation only has one. good luck with that fellas!!
