Trails in the Sky 1st comes west this fall!

The groundbreaking first chapter of the acclaimed Trails series makes its debut on modern consoles in full 3D. Fans old and new alike, get ready to experience the Kingdom of Liberl with brand-new localizations, enhanced visuals, and refined gameplay mechanics.

These games historically had a notoriously troubled localization. Having a new localization that was more ethically sourced is a good call - and it also makes me wonder if Falcom might use this as an opportunity to trim it down a little bit and do what they did in Ys X and highlight who has relevant dialogue instead of giving every single character unique lines of text as things happen in each chapter.

They also announced a new expanded Ys X version a la SMTV Vengeance which I find kinda annoying as weā€™ve just got the original one here.

Good to know. I thought that was going to be in Spring, though.

Recent Balatro news make me sad because I am reminded of how much appearances are important in all of life. Amorphous organizations are one thing, but I have also seen a lot of people get their brain completely broken by the gameā€™s aesthetic, resulting in Bad Posts. Sometimes a game is addictive because itā€™s good!

Kind of a cute little Steam release:

Itā€™s an auto-battler where you collect little figurines, dress them up, configure their move sets, and make them fight. Itā€™s a little chaotic and RNG-heavy, but I find it cute and itā€™s fun to watch the characters bat each other around the arena. Presentation is really nice.

The proposed Jeudy trade wasnā€™t the only time Johnson cited ā€œMaddenā€ ratings when evaluating players, according to the source. The owner pushed back on signing free-agent guard John Simpson in the offseason due to his ā€œawarenessā€ rating in the video game. The Jets signed Simpson anyway, and he has had a solid season.

To some, the reference to the video game ratings is a sign of Johnson allowing his teenage sons, Brick and Jack, to influence the franchise.

Only a fool would trust the assessments of a game company whose Release(RLS) rating is a 30 in Real Life '24.

shoot i might actually play this now instead of getting a fraction of the way into the game and bailing for the 4th time

IPL doing a free of charge Marble Nest type prologue to Pathologic 3

Quarantine is a free prelude to Pathologic 3 that youā€™ll be able to experience before the main gameā€™s release. Itā€™s akin to a demo version, but not quite. Our longtime followers might recall The Marble Nest ā€”a playable teaser released before Pathologic 2 . Quarantine follows a similar format but with slightly different goals: unlike The Marble Nest , which was a completely separate story, it will showcase fragments of gameplay mechanics, set the stage for the story, and pull back the curtain a bit for those curious about the gameā€™s world.

looks to be set in the heretofore unseen Capital. Also Telmann is a traitor (idk who that is)

This free prologue ties directly into the main game and partially overlaps with its intro, but has several unique scenes as well. For the first time in the series, we will see the Capital ā€” where Bachelorā€™s poor lab is located. (Telmann is a traitor.)

Well, time to play Pathologic 2, then.

Yeah, Iā€™m feeling it too, but damn do I want that Steam Cloud sync.

I guess this will tell me whether Iā€™m building a computer in 2025

I wonder if Quarantine will be a reliable benchmark, only bc Marble Nest still runs worse than 2 proper. Then again, IPL has been uncharacteristically on the ball for a while now: releasing (admittedly smaller-scale) games on time and functional, and now communicating regularly and legibly about Pathologic 3. Always mercurialā€¦

dont know if this info will reassure, but the game is structured into 12 in-game days, so as long as you block out some time to play a day to completion on the same device, you may not miss cloud saves. Bc the game structure lends itself to discrete sessions it might not be something you want to play intermittently anyway

Unfortunately, I usually get about two 30-minute sessions during the work-week, which I play on my Steam Deck. I can put it to sleep and pick up where I left off which is nice.I have my large gaming sessions on days off/weekends, which I like to spend split between Steam Deck and Desktop PC/Console. I usually canā€™t block out enough time for a whole in-game day.

Without Sync, I have to choose whether I want to play the game exclusively on Deck or Desktop, which would be fine for a shorter game, but limits me to only experiencing the game only with the Steam Deckā€™s inferior graphical capabilities, only on weekends and only at my desk instead of on the couch.

intriguing new entrant in the Microsoft Flight Simulator 3rd party career mode app market

I mostly prefer Air Hauler 2 for the full airline mgmt experience although OnAir is strong as well. The developers of SkyPark were recently bought out and announced no future plans to support that product: wasnt my favorite but it had the slickest UI and the paragon/renegade system was unintentionally hilarious. NeoFly is too hideously AI generated art infested to countenance. A Pilotā€™s Life is too rigidly structured imo and you have too often and with too great regularity for an employed person to get much out of. So it looks to me like Fly The Line is trying to make a more tempered and personal version of that latter product, although itā€™s unclear to me how much wider airline mgmt stuff it will include. If it does follow through on more detailed pilot wife:worried aspects in combination with a reasonably detailed airline side then I would be excited to give it a try. I will def be selecting the ā€œEmotional Intelligenceā€ trait
