I want to cry.
I have wanted to play this for so long.
Dragon Quest IV got an official english translation on the DS, but unfortunately party chat was left out. The DS version was later ported to mobile with party chat intact, but with much wonkier controls. For a long time, this has (unfortunately) been the definitive way to play DQIV. Until now! Somebody's patched all the party chat dialogue from the mobile version of the game into the DS version.
This is a pretty huge addition because DQIV's major narrative gimmick is a bunch of separate heroes coming together, so party chat's always felt like a really glaring omission from the DS port. I'm very excited to play it.

Is anyone familiar with the Committee Of Zero patches?
With [the current Spike Chunsoft sale](https://forums.insertcredit.com/d/677-games-for-cheapskates/558), I've grabbed Chaos;Head Noah, and Chaos;Child. I see steam reviews praising the [CoZ patch for Chaos;Head Noah](https://sonome.dareno.me/projects/chn-patch.html), but I am not entirely sure what to make of it from reading their website. Was the original really _that bad_ and a whole replacement translation is justified? Or are these some variant of awful internet people that get angry because the localisation wasn't 100% literal, and are going through all this effort to put honorifics and the like back in?
Are their other patches / translations worthwhile? I've been meaning to play Steins;Gate for ages, and I see they have a patch for that. Would anyone recommend for/against using that, also?

The Saturn version is the best way to play that one, right? There have been many discussions around this that I haven‘t been able to perfectly follow, but somehow I came away with that inclination. When I finally get around to this game I’ll use this translation – and if I'm off the mark of this being the best version, please someone feel free to correct me!!
