Ultra Goat 2025!
The Ultra tournaments happen every May in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.
It’s the official may major in Brazil.
Brazil is too big so we tend to have majors in the same months every year.
Ultra - Smash Ultimate, SF6, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Guilty Gear, bunch of anime fighters and tons of side events, every May (Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais)
Comitê Arena - the forementioned games , every end of august (Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo)
Treta Championship - the forementioned games, every early september (Curitiba, Paraná)
Battle Coliseum Tournament - the forementioned games and tons of side events, every november ( Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo)
Aside from these majors, there’s tournaments but focused on certain games.
- Fight For the Future (SF6 Major, in Sao Paulo. Usually on the 1st half of the Year)
- Super Copa de Smash Bros (SSBU major in Sao Paulo, June)
- Tretinha (mini treta championship, in Curitiba - Paraná, don’t know when)
Now, for fightcade people i have no idea how’s the scene. I know a lot of people play it but i don’t know if they hold locals. I know they always show up in Ultra / Comitê Arena and Battle Coliseum Tournament. Maybe Treta too.

Yeah, I talk to a few people I met through Fightcade on discord now. I think the scene in general could learn more about events outside of North America and Japan. Thanks for the info!

Man! this takes me back. A lot of that ult/smash 4 tech, particularly stuff like perfect pivots came to me so hard. For some reason I could never get it in the same way that I can consistently wavedash or waveland in melee. this stuff is so cool

Also, it’s capcom cup weekend. I haven’t watched much but it is cool to me that the team tournament is positioned as a bigger thing than the singles bracket in a way (it’s after and on Saturday night).
The solo Capcom Cup tournament was pretty cool thanks to Blaz, the 15 years old Chilean phenom. He was clearly the public’s favorite after Tokido got eliminated. The public itself was fascinatingly young in Ryōgoku. Capcom has clearly tapped into a brand new audience with SF6 in Japan.

Gonna be running a Sunday Brunch session on 3/16! Since we’re probably doing stuff close to weekly I’m not gonna post in this thread each time, but if you’re interested in keeping up go here to sign up for the newsletter: https://forms.gle/sQD6whgiE6G1D8Dx8

At least Venom got three days in the sun before the new king of brightly colored sport based projectiles arrived.
EDIT: I have since learned more about who this person is and everything sure is worse than it should be. I wish I could double boycott the same thing.
