How did they get away with this? (41:29)
Play It Pinball - BBAND (2000)

(also can someone from admin please tag this under the ā€˜musicā€™ category? I keep forgetting what the title of the thread is!)

First of all wow, yeah, they sure just went for it.

Maybe T-Square posting is cheating, but this lick from Your Christmas

is nearly identical to this melody from F-Zero

I always thought this little sparkling flourish from the opening cinematic of the fourth generation PokƩmon games

sounded like this repeated cascading pattern in Debussyā€™s Reflets dans lā€™eau

ā€¦ Is this getting a little too granular? :P

I was just randomly watching a tas of a yugioh game and look what I found.

The song in question starts at 1:17. When Iā€™m back at a computer Iā€™ll edit it to the time stamp.

Pretty unambiguous here

The Zook Hero Z soundtrack (and many of Vast Fameā€™s other soundtracks) do a sideways version of the usual music plagiarism. The Zook Hero games are unlicensed Taiwanese games that are basically unofficial Megaman sequels. Not something thatā€™s too uncommon.

The interesting thing is that the Zook games are original games on an original engine. The one thing they did steal directly, though, is the Game Boy sound driver from Mega Man V. Not the music though! They reverse engineered the driver and wrote original music. Just on a plagiarized sound driver.
