I dated a girl from Detroit a couple years ago and we watched every film set in or around Detroit like hamtramck. She’d tell me what they got right and wrong about the city. Weirdly unless the movie is about the music scene there there is no mention of a major part of Detroit culture. We tried to play Detroit become human and we could not.
This isn’t as heavy of a hitter as the rest in this thread but I picked up this. It’s such a clumsy use of English it’s like I wrote it.

I believe this was meant for me—oddly enough considering we also share an Illinois connection, I’m actually from Detroit! Tbf the detroit music scene is a very large part of the culture. I am still waiting for the seminal coney dog movie to be made.

Oh funny. I leaned that Detroit may deserve to be the punching bag of the nation but it’s also an incredible city and deserves a broader spotlight than it gets
