Sonic Mania can be beaten in a brisk evening, get on it!
I’ve got two games I’m thinking of playing next.
I just finished up Sorry, We’re Closed and Signalis, so I’m wondering if I keep enjoying the string of well-executed, modern RE / SH inspired releases and dive into Crow Country. I saw some other folks on here playing through recently.
Or
I’m wondering if anyone on here would want to hangout in Webfishing together? (@Tradegood what did you think? is it worth $5?)
I’d love to go webfishing together! The question of if it’s worth $5 is an interesting one… its really just a vector to chat while there’s some nice vibes, music, silliness, and collect stuff. I think there is certainly $5 of fun there, but you probably won’t feel compelled to pick it up solo.
Alright — I got $5! If anyone else wants to hop in at some point, let me know.
Is there a good spot on the forum to have an open invite for playing a game together? Like a “Hey I’m Streaming Over Here” type thing?
Or is that more what the Discord is for?
We have the Hey I'm Streamin' Here! NOW! thread for announcing streaming on the discord. Not sure about a thread just to announce you’re playing an open multiplayer game though. You could start the thread if you want!
I’d be down to join ya if you’re playing today! Just started a room called “Chillax Zone” (MFXU15)
(also cc’ing @Kthpwrth - forgot to reply in thread but would be down to start a room together!)
What’s the forum’s take on River City Girls? I like a good beat em up and I play through one or two a year with my brother. They’re all on sale on PSN, including River City Girls Zero which is a remaster of an unreleased in the west Super Famicom Kunio-kun game.
We’d be playing together online in all likelihood, is this the kind of series where I might as well just grab the sequel? If not, is Zero as good as Girls 1?
I played River City Girls right after playing Streets of Rage 4 and it felt sorta bad comparatively. From what I recall the action felt like it was in mud and there didn’t seem to be as much room for skill expression as in SoR4. It might be fine on it’s own, but it was heavily overshadowed by a better game when I played it.
I think the special moves and combo system felt quite weird but the presentation had such good vibes I still quite liked it all the way thru.
Hmmmm…not the reviews I was hoping for lol
I don’t expect everything to be as good as Streets of Rage 4 of course but maybe we can wait until the power rangers thing comes out.
Edit: thanks for your thoughts
I went through my digital games libraries and made a list of games that are in there that I really want to play, that I haven’t played yet or would really like to finish. I tried to arrange them in a list of which library they’re in and in what order I’d like to play them. That of course is all subject to change. There are a few games that I’d really prefer to play as “bedtime games,” but I’ll need a steam deck for that. Here is that list.
- The Witcher 3
- Titanfall 2
- Disco Elysium
- Babbdi
- Mass Effect: Legendary Edition
- Banner Saga
- Death Stranding
- Raji
- Chorvs
- Unsighted
- Frost Punk
- Half Life
- Half Life 2
- Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
- Misericorde
- Cassette Beasts
- Moonring
- Darkest Dungeon
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Homeworld
- Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
- Tomb Raider (that remake)
- Total War: Shogun
This is all highly subject to change, guaranteed to be interrupted by the game purchases I’m already planning to make in 2025 (Demon School). Beyond that, I’m not sure I’ll need to purchase a single game next year. It depends on how many of these I drop a few hours in. Also, these are only games on my PC. I’m not interested in anything on Switch, but maybe I’ll make a list of SFC games to play. I still need to finish Secret of Mana…
I’m officially in “too many games” mode.
babbdi is pretty short, if you want to just knock it out; you’ll probably complete it in a couple hours (or more, if you hang out longer).
i watched/listened to a let’s play of misericorde, and thought it was good. as it’s a visual/kinetic novel, you probably wouldn’t lose as much just watching a let’s play, so perhaps you could try that route for your bedtime game, in lieu of a steam deck (i’m sure there are other let’s plays out there, if you don’t like the one that i linked).
I think I’ll try that Indiana Jones game bc that old Riddick and old The Darkness were pretty neat as a first-person explorer/puzzler/dialoguer structurally unusual things and Machine Games says that’s what they’re going back to here. The thing holding me back from more fully enjoying Riddick and The Darkness was that they were Riddick and The Darkness and I like Indiana Jones better, so that’s my thinking
Should I consider playing Marc Ecko’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure (2006)?
Yes yes
that game shares the same birthday as me, which’s cool
(you can use mobygame’s “this day in gaming” thing to look at what games share your birthday!)
I don’t know why but I always read your handle as mtv mcribs.
I like that.
Wish i had thought of that.
The mcrib is back!
I have misread so many handles here. It must be something to do with the font.
