I did listen to Power Trip and I enjoyed it, thanks for the recommendation 
I can imagine hearing them in a small venue, especially someone’s downstairs must have been quite something and then some! I shall check more out in the future - right now I am doing something a bit more experimental with metal, which I will be putting up here soon!

my favorite metal album of the year easily - unbelievably catchy hooks - soft/harsh vocal pairing in trad mallscramz fashion :D the synths are so pretty

Haha wow! They really captured that sound. I don’t expect anyone to have heard of this band ever but there was a metalcore band really popular where I grew up. I still listen to them from time to time. For nostalgia of course but also I haven’t found anyone else that sounds like them;

Catchy, riff heavy BM from Mexico
There is/was a real bloom of these types of punk bands in the US and most of them have died away but Warthog is still one I jam pretty regularly. Awesome cover art, too. I hope more punk minded people check out this thread too.
Finnish BM (so you already know it’s good) that gets a little out there. TBH this is one of those albums I find myself listening to in full back to back so I’m not sure what songs are best representations.
Pretty evil sounding BM from the 90s. It’s very good but also the sort of thing you find yourself listening to because you’ve already heard every Darkthrone album 10000 times.
More Finnish BM. Melodic and a little symphonic but in a cheesy/good 90s way. This song has a part that reminds me of the cannibal Holocaust soundtrack.
