What should be the next video game that is made or marketed by a game show personality but is not actually an adaptation of their own televised game show?

A few examples.

What’s the Walmart requiring you to have a monthly subscription in order to be able to use the self checkout of video games?

I’m going to start paying attention to this.

I don’t know specifics but I feel that, whatever it is, it is diabolically profitable

Woah is that what’s happening at Walmart? I went to one in an affluent suburb a couple months ago for the first time in a decade, and was blown away by the sheer amount of loss prevention measures. Everything was locked up, including paper towels. You needed an escort to deliver your alcohol to a cashier. Every cashier station was full but there but the lines were so long it took 30 minutes of waiting before I could check out. It was truly awful and makes me sick that it’s the default customer experience for people in food deserts and places where Walmart ran the other stores out of business. You’re treated like a criminal and the prices weren’t any different then what you would find at a Safeway or a H Mart, which don’t have those measures. The whole thing reeks of paranoia and classism.

don’t care for a cost barrier, but there should be some kind of barrier to entry wrt the self-checkout system. A licensing system or something I think. Too many people just can’t hack it

new layer to this one, cause apparently the whole “subscription to use self checkout” thing was not real or at least taken out of context. and it was just a thing that was taken out of context to make headlines that seem dumb and evil but believable

you know how sometimes you’re on an elevator and it stops on your floor, then the door opens and someone waiting for the elevator on that floor immediately walks in without waiting for anyone to disembark - what is the that of video games?

What’s the opening line of the opening verse of Mystikal’s Shake Ya Ass, which in my opinion is the greatest opening line in all of hip hop music, of videogames?

I will reproduce it below, stylized appropriately:

I CAME HERE WITH MY DICK IN MY HAND

Another hip-hop related question:

Who, or what, is the ODB a.k.a. Ol’ Dirty Bastard a.k.a. Ason Unique a.k.a. Dirt McGirt a.k.a. Joe Bananas a.k.a. The Specialist a.k.a. Dirt Dog a.k.a. Osirus a.k.a. Big Baby Jesus a.k.a. Old Dirty Chinese Restaurant a.k.a. Ol’ Dirty Bastard of videogames, and who or what within videogames is for the children in the same way the Wu Tang Clan is?

What is the A Quiet Place: Day One of Videogames?

So A Quiet Place: Day One is a prequel, to a moderately successful franchise. The franchise had a strong first film (A Quiet Place), which was a small focused story with a handful of characters, primarily in one location. The first film arguably should have been a one and done - but instead its now part of a multi-film trilogy. The second film ups the stakes and is bigger, does well but has a slightly colder reception than the first one. The third instalment is a prequel that no one really asked for - but maybe it will be good actually? (its not out yet so time will tell)

Maybe Batman Arkham Origins then? Arkham Asylum is an excellent, well contained game that is acclaimed by both fans and critics alike. It has a small focused story in one primary location, with a bunch of characters. The sequel Arkham City is bigger and better, but has a more mixed reception because of its large open world map / side quests / plethora of characters + plot - compared to the more focused elements of the first game. Then Arkham Origins comes along, its a prequel to the first one, and its fine? Its not amazing, its no one’s favourite game in the series. It sells ok, but is ultimately kind of forgettable.

Maybe the comparison is unfair, since A Quiet Place: Day One is being made by the same creator (John Krasinski) as the first one, unlike Arkham Origins which was made by WB Montréal and not Rocksteady.
Also there is no way to know whether A Quiet Place: Day One will be any good or not, but for now most people seem to be apathetic towards it, which kind of reminds me of Arkham Origins.

I also thought of Resident Evil 0 + DmC:Devil May Cry but they are both part of large established franchises by the time they released.
