I’m going to say apples, the most symbolic fruit of Abrahamic tradition.
All the western RPGs have apples you can eat, even the recent Zelda games.

It’s bananas.
- Many of the ones people most know are imported
- There are lots of ways to prepare them
- Lots of comedy locked up in there (slip on a peal, “appeal” puns, so on)
