good morning everyone! welcome to the first ever Insert Credit Gaiden, a new ongoing feature you can expect every (many? some) wednesdays, where we can put things like interviews, essays, reviews and more between full episodes.

at the moment we're releasing gaiden episodes One Week Early for [patrons](, though this may not be the case going forward since ideally we'd like everyone to be able to discuss things at the same time (and some things like essays may be timely rather than evergreen). let us know what you think, and what you'd like to see going forward! thanks!

Heck yeah let's go Wednesday podcast

Love the sound editing on this one. NA Beer alert!

I'm really looking forward to this one! Thanks for releasing the Gaiden series!

i remember listening to this podcast one week ago… its pretty good

i should finish 2064 read only memories sometime, i think i got a decent way through the game before putting it down

my attention span likes to wander

i remember it being pretty good from what i played though

    turing is a cute robot

Excited about this. Even though I just had to rename the IC-Adjacent discord to the “IC-Adjacent Dirtbag Zone” so it doesn't imply it has something to do with IC Gaiden. This is how thoughtful I am about co-branding!!

    @“esper”#p140745 One Week Early

Do we still get to lean into the _**"ONE WEEK EARLY⁉️"**_ meme we have around here?

Oh to be an intreprid traveller in Japan, wandering around Tokyo on the search for plant-based dinner and a NeoGeo Pocket.

So I haven't followed any of them since the podcast was actually ongoing but this episode did remind me that the Warning: A Huge Podcast! cast would make guests.

@“antillese”#p140790 You can do whatever you want in life.

Rad to hear Brandon review some of my creature comforts. I stroll down to my local bar and they are fully stocked with the same Japanese non-alcoholics.

Awesome episode - thanks @“exodus”#3 for doing it and @“esper”#11 for creating it!

**PLEASE** get rid of the Breaking News buzzer though - I was walking down the street and thought a car was coming. Or a large scooter!

    Otherwise fantastic non-alcoholic fun!

_edit - and @"Jaffe"#205 for introducing it. And anyone else I missed!_

Fun episode! It‘ll be nice to see more of these when they release; I’m looking forward to it.

Thanks for answering my question @exodus ! Yeah, it seems like a lot of games from Japan are being sold overseas/to foreigners these days. Obviously, it's nice that access is available, but well, demand is demand.

I'm less affected by competition for the stuff I'm looking for (other than the high end stuff), but I'm still seeing the price increases. The stuff I'm interested in (like weird PS1 games) can be difficult to ship affordably at times, so I never know whether it's better to buy stuff now or wait to find on a future trip. Prices on Surugaya have doubled like twice since I've been shopping on there; I think the low yen has played a big part in that.

I appreciate the thorough response. I have a similar outlook on the state of things, but I've never traveled to Japan to know what it's like firsthand. It's nice to hear from people that know more than me!

Woo! I enjoyed the reviews! Also Read Only Memories mentioned! I wonder which soundtrack version it was? There are two, one from Limited Run‘s collectors edition (in a cardboard slip cover made to look like a vinyl sleeve), and a Chorus one sold in Japan as a pre-order bonus (standard jewel case but uses the same art). I’m guessing it's the latter.

@“JJSignal”#p140932 bingo! (brandon sent me photos and I remembered this one)

@“TomoftheFog”#p140868 those darius klaxons are gonna remain for the next episode because it‘s already done, so unfortunately you’re going to have to continue thinking a huge battleship is approaching fast.

I'm always looking over my shoulder in case a huge battleship is fast approaching.

@“exodus”#p140952 At least I know they‘re coming so thanks for the heads up. I’ll try not to be doing anything stressful when I listen to the next episode, like walking!

Wait how does someone manage to get kicked out of Saizeriya?
