So Iāve been on a roll of attending a concert a week since early October, and I wanted to bring a camera to every show but wanted something small and extremely portable. I decided to go a little retro and ebayed a Sony Cybershot from 2010ā¦

oh nice! I didnāt know this thread existed. My partner and I developed all the super old rolls of film around the house and we really liked em and realized we missed film. I went ahead and bought a bunch of film and pulled out my old Pentax I got from my mom. Excited to take some more pics. I had a roll of 800 speed film so I took a bunch of stuff outside on Halloween night, weāll see how it turns out. Now I'm looking for people and things to take with all the other stuff.
I am an amateur but I did go to school for film, so I know some of the basics from loading up 16mm cameras just mere seconds before all filmstrip turned to dust and the world was fully digital.

I just snapped this with my phone a moment ago. Kinda fun to look at.
i have a lot of shots from Japan 2000-2020 that I'd like to compile into a zine someday.

@āNekoā#p47741 Great cityscape. What year is it from? Giving me a 2004 feeling. I would definitely look at a zine of old photos like that, you should do it!
That is January 2020! But here's one from mid 00s since you asked

can't remember why i took this photo.
@āfetus8ā#p47702 nice!! I use a T-900 from that same series pretty often. Though, not so much anymore since I've barely left my house for almost two years now lol.
but there's something truly so magic about old digicams. I have a bunch of different ones, there's a small community online of people sharing cool creative ways to do interesting things with them. it's a very particular aesthetic but it looks so damn good when employed in the right conditions.
@āandrewelmoreā#p48190 hell YA. I love the T-Series digicams. I canāt believe Iāve waited this long to grab one. I am taking it everywhere with me, and taking more photos because of it.
They def have a particular way of processing the jpegs and it's produced some pretty interesting results. I went for a late afternoon walk yesterday and with the bright sun, I got some really "pretty" blown out/soft lighting off some buildings that I'm shocked too see from such a small camera.

I was suggesting to my GF that she get a small digital camera. Her phone camera is getting crappier each day (Whatās that all about?) but if we had a little powershot or something weād always have access.
Yeah, the smaller Sony sensors from the late-00s/early-10s coupled with those tiny wide-ish angle zeiss glass assemblies leads to any hotly-lit surfaces getting this blown out xbox 360-ass bloom, it's so cool.
I like how blown out it is without being over exposed. Still plenty of contrast throughout
