@rejj Iāve been able to cut about .4s off that first lap, but then canāt quite match the other two. So thereās definitely at least that much room for improvement. Getting fatigued now though, lol.
2nd try with the Stratos. Pick the Stratos.
ļ¼øļ¼¹ļ¼ŗļ¼¹ļ¼ø in the main menu if you havenāt unlocked it āfairlyā in the Championship. Rear transmission will take some time to adjust but the car is unbeatable on Desert.

Yeah I was waiting for someone to show up with that car. The top speed is 100km/hr faster than the default cars so it's kind of a different category altogether.
Woah no no, 20km/h! Thatās plenty enough. (+100kph would be a formula one haha.) I think it theoretically tops at 250kph while the Celica tops at around 230kph.
A great resource for improving your driving lines and gear shifts is the Youtube channel EasyRightMaybeās dedicated Sega Rally sub-channel. They get to an absolutely insane 2'28" on Desert with the Stratos but they also have reference videos for the Delta and the Celica.
Times may vary based on your version (The Celica video is based on the PAL version) but the driving line is a good baseline for all versions.
@chazumaru Oops! Didnāt realize I was playing the US version, lol. Top speed for the Lancia is 130mph.
This is exactly what I was thinking! Thatās why I had kinda discounted it. Iāll have to try it out.
Iāve had a few runs, but no times worth posting yet! Lucky enough to be able to play the Real Deal.

And this is good to know! I have the second one because I found it at a local game store in a bargain bin. Runs way better on my XP and 98 machines than it does on Dreamcast, thatās for sure!
@andrewelmore I think the three lap race score challenge is pretty fun to watch though, and folks seem to be gravitating toward that - so I say let them!
In the process of coming to grips with the Stratos. Still a very messy run.
Part of me wanted to stick to with just the Celica and Delta, but on the other hand itās very funny that chaz improved our times with the āuse the fast carā strat.

I think the OG Ridge Racer track is a good candidate for this. Or any RR track really.
