@Obskyr I was going to post it at the end of the seven days, but it looks like @hellomrkearns got something up and going!
It's been a while since I played this, but does the home version also include the arcade cheat of a spec boost while selecting your car? From memory in the arcade ver you shift through the gears 1-4 and hear the engine rev.
I think it improves the handling and speed slightly?
this is my first run where all the laps are sub-minute:
i still don’t have the track (or driving in manual uh) fully figured out, so i think i can get it down a little bit further
@Shaneus looks like there is, but it only applies to Arcade mode.

Really don’t feel great about this but it’s the best I’m gonna do tonight. All the wildfire smoke is giving me a pounding headache.
Up in third place again, for the most part I’ve been playing it on the MiSTer core on my TV even though it doesn’t have audio cause i’ve been working in something with extremely long export times and my pc is not available at all times.
Yesterday I played it on my old laptop to prevent any possible damage from power surges due to the hurricane and I found out that I’m better at it the closest I am to the screen.
I had another few runs with my morning coffee today. Not satisfied with this at all, but figured I should at least post an update.
still a lot of work to do – this only puts me in 3rd or 4th at present, and will slip further over the week I imagine.
Are we switching to a new game on Wednesday?
Thought this wasn’t the one, so i forgot to take the screenshot immediately afterward. But turns out it’s very close to plum! (btw i discovered plum is also playing this but posting their times over on cohost) at least on the three lap
@wickedcestus yep! I should put up a poll or something…
i’m still making mistakes, and still don’t know how to best do that last turn, but definitely learned the track and manual controls a bit better
@NoJoTo I don’t get that last turn either. No mater the angle or drift I seem to lose a ton of speed or slide too far to the right.
I’m having so much (inconsistent) trouble with some of these longer corners. I’m using this video (embedded below) as reference and they’re hugging the walls SO tight, which is good, but I find it so hard to really get to grips with where the colliders are on the world geometry. I can never tell when I’m going to bounce off an invisible wall when it looks like I’m not quite at the edge of the track yet lol.

I tried to do the thing where you take a few days off and then come back refreshed and totally destroy your high score, but instead I just got worse.
