I went to the computer store yesterday. I saw a tiny laptop on display called a travel companion which curiously only had 4gb of RAM.

I opened up the task manager (cntl + shift + esc) it was using 3.8 gb of 4 just idiling on Windows 11.

I hope nobody is tricked into buying this machine.

Also so many brand new laptops only have a 256gb ssd. How is this viable? Do people not have files any more?

I learned a rule to find if a number is divisible by 7.

I originally found out how to find if a number is cleanly divisible by 3 from a Persona game. The rule for 3 is: if the sum of a numbers digits is divisible by 3 then the original number is also divisible by 3,

  • - e.g. for 96 the sum is `9 + 6 = 15`,
  • - 15 is divisible by 3 `( 15 / 3 = 5 )`
  • - so we know 96 is divisible by 3.

    • The formula for numbers divisible by 7 is a bit more complex. The first step is to split the number into two, the final digit and the other digits. The next step is to double the final digit. Then we subtract the now doubled final digit from the other digits. If the result is a number divisible by 7, the original number is cleanly divisible by 7 (no fraction/remainders)

  • - e.g: For the number </s>161<e> it splits into </s>16<e> and </s>1<e>

  • - We double the final digit `(1)` : `1 * 2 = 2`
  • - `16 - 2 = 14` -> As 14 is divisible by 7 we know 161 is also divisible by 7.
