Pathologic 2 Discussion (SPOILER HECK ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK)

@“captain”#p69662 Cursory searches lead me to wonder if this is about trains

yes it seems if you actually irl call for a train as instructed in that vignette, it has an effect

@“captain”#p69662 Polyhedron confusion

The Bachelor route in the original _Pathologic_ is focused on occult/pseudoscientific efforts to transcend death, and it’s revealed that the polyhedron >!is like some kind of metaphysical psychogeographic locus that will allow a human soul to remain intact!<

If I’m remembering that correctly. I think there are a few elements of this in P2 with Yulia, but I don’t think there’s much beyond those loose strands. So this means that the town isn’t just coincidentally overlaid on the bull’s body, it’s engineered to be it’s own system and designed to produce that outcome for the town elite (or the mystical/occult element from that class, which would be I guess the charitable read on it

the described gameplay changes for the bachelor are fascinating! Jojoe I'm going to post this

in the nonspoiler thread as well

@“yeso”#p77314 Sure, I remembered being more than one thread dedicated to the game but using the search function this was the only one that popped up. I see now the other one was the one with the P2 joke on the title so that‘s probably why I couldn’t find it lol

Since I'm already here I'm gonna say that only just yesterday committed more than one thousand euros to a new computer and HOPEFULLY will be finally to play this game. I have tried starting it a couple of times but sadly doesn't run well on my current PC at all. Briefly considered doing it even with the poor performance but honestly the art direction looks cool enough to not want to do that.

@“JoJoestar”#p77319 that's good news, you had the right idea to wait until you could play it in an uncompromised manner

Whoa, the translation is all over the place but even still everything I've read sounds exciting and intriguing. Quite the answer to the question of “how are they going to remake a game with three playable characters into 3 separate games,” turns out the answer is to actually just make 3 separate games. Pathologic 2, 3, and 4? Who knew we would be so blessed

taking a step back, this is just a totally insane way to go about re-making a game lol

seriously, god bless IPL

Everybody's doing it, Ice Pick Lodge, Square Enix Business Division 1,

The Bachelor route is going to be a gift… the Changeling route is going to change the world

Started a file of Pathologic 2 yesterday. Playing on intended difficulty. Nearing the end of Day 1 I think. Making tons of dialogue choices and getting used to the gameplay loop. Over the years I’ve been building my maturity-level in regards to playing games like this, coming to terms with just… playing it. Pick the dialogue choices that seem right, do my best, let the game play out as it does and see where the chips fall. I can already tell a single wiki lookup or walkthrough guide is going to stab this game in its proverbial guts. Anyway pray for me

@“fridgeboy”#p88260 Hell yes dude…

Also I'm sure you've seen this plenty of times on here and I will recognize @"yeso"#385 as my instructor in this regard, but the best experience is trying your best to keep the difficulty at default, but to feel no shame in making the call to adjust things once the difficulty or even any individual difficulty parameter gets in the way of the experience or bars you from making progress.

@“fridgeboy”#p88260 Check out the P2 tips ‘n tricks ’n emotional support thread! (the title is tricky it's not about Persona 2 or Pictionary 2 or Pokémon 2) There are no spoilers there, stay safe from the spoilers

@“captain”#p88263 I avoided that thread for months because I thought it was about Persona 2

EDIT: Ok, more like a month, but still

Yeso is “funny” in specifically that way, specially with everything related to Persona 2.

fridgeboy DO NOT READ

>!

Internally breathed a deep sigh of relief when our very own Dr. Bill shared that he bought the talking bull after all

>!

I have a Rogersian level case of pathological (hehe) spoiler intolerance, but, really, even I feel tempted to impress on everyone who plays this game that they absolutely must purchase the talking bull.

>!

Checking the Steam achievements reveals that only 7.1% of players get the achievement for speaking to my real and strong friend Noukher… is it hyperbolic to say that 92.9% of people who have played/own Pathologic 2 have not actually played it? That part of the experience just feels so essential to me.
