Play one new game for every year you've been alive

You know, my whole life I‘ve just assumed that I was born on the same year that the N64 launched, but I just checked and that’s not actually the case.

I recommend everyone double check your birth certificate before making your list; you might be surprised.

@“Tradegood”#p103833 How about The Cave for 2013? I haven't played through it in years but I remember thinking it was interesting.

And for 2014 you might could give Hitman GO a try.

@“connrrr”#p103836

I hope you enjoy Ristar!

@“Coffinwarehouses”#p103855 oh shoot you‘re right! I thought I’d picked two home runs. Well I‘m really curious about my pick for that year. It looks neat but I’ve never ever heard of it.

Cool idea. I too have picked games that I‘ve not touched at all, though I’ve picked the earliest release date for a game, according to Wikipedia anyway. Some versions of games (Tomb Raider, Daemon X Machina I have PC versions of) I have later releases / ports of but I‘m going by their original release dates given there’s little difference other than performance (other than the PC version of D4 which uses mouse controls rather than the Xbox One's Kinect controls).

I have also made a list! I think the listmaking is a pretty fun game in itself.

I don't have access to any modern consoles except a Switch, nor do I have a beefy PC, so the list got pretty challenging around 2016. I just sorta picked what sounded like it might be cool, sometimes leaning towards stuff I had never heard about before. At one point I got really into the idea of playing late era PSP games. I think it's going to be a fun list.

Oh also there's definitely a mix of Japanese and North American release dates in here. It was just easier that way.

@“Syzygy”#p103862 whoa!!

I love the idea. I‘m sort of doing this, as I’ve downloaded a huge set of MAME games and I‘m narrowing it down to my favorite 1,000. I’ve never played a Yakuza or Hitman game, so next year I want to play every one released.

Wowzers! if you have any stellar recs I'd love to hear them. I picked a lot of my choices more or less at random.

Slamming all of these down in a single year is gonna make for a year you'll never forget

@“Toph”#p103860 How about The Cave for 2013? I haven’t played through it in years but I remember thinking it was interesting.

I had forgotten until I looked it up, but I actually played The Cave way back in the day. From what I remember I also thought it was kind of interesting but my friend wasn't into it so we didn't get that far.

And for 2014 you might could give Hitman GO a try.

I was so excited reading this post thinking Hitman GO was a Pokemon GO-like with Augmented Reality targets that you need to throw expired cans of spaghetti sauce at. It looks interesting though, and I like the physical-object-ness of the art.

When I went to download Aero Porter by Yoot Saito, I realized that Level-5 also put out _Attack of the Friday Monsters_ and an interesting looking rhythm-based JRPG called _Weapon Shop De Omasse_ during 2013-2014 so I bought those. :)

I have changed my (old) mind and I will try this out. It will give me a reason to play some games that I own that I haven't tried yet and give some of my everdrives some use. I will get my list together this weekend and report back. Seeing other peoples lists full of cool games is very motivating.

Made an image to hopefully take up less space. I think the most enjoyable part of making this list was realizing how many games I would add immediately and how many years required me to shrug and just think of something. So, this is the result of my sticking to the rule of adding no game I've ever touched before.

@“JXUA”#p103895 REZ is so good. Not sure how you plan on playing it but the PS4/5 version rules. Its even better on PSVR.

@“Coffinwarehouses”#p103876

For 1986 I haven't played Solomon's Key, but I enjoy and can probably play an hour of Kiki Kai by Taito.

I know you‘ve already played these years, but I’ve had fun with these:

Intrepid (1983) by Nova. This is like Elevator Action, but 1) you don't have a gun, and 2) you're able to go into rooms on each floor and search for supplies. The graphics aren't as good as Congo Bongo, but once I got the hang of the gameplay I had a really good time.

Kamakazi Cabbie (1984) Data East. It's like a 1984 top-down version of Crazy Taxi.

I love this idea, and I'm going to try today to come up with my list. Given my creaky-bones-aww-jeez-my-joints-hurt age, putting at least an hour in to every entry on the list will result in more than a regular full work-week of activity.

||aww jeez, my joints hurt just thinking about that||

@“bwood”#p103909 Awesome thanks! Added all three of these to my list for next time.

@“rejj”#p103911 If you look at the edit history of my list's Google Doc it is an unseemly amount of revisions
