That’s a tough one - I’ll have a think about this but are there any other details? That was really the era of Roman ruins stages/areas of video games so it describes lots of things. Do you know the game type maybe? Rpg? Platformer?
I’d probably say platformer or vague action adventurey whatever
honestly this memory is so old and distinct yet hazy it might have always been a dream but i needed to shout it into the void at least once so it would stop tearing at me
that Rygar?
i think this is it!!! how have i never found this before!! thank you!
it’s a good game
There’s a DS JRPG with fighting game execution during battles, like with juggles and special cancels. Futuristic setting (might be in space?) with anime character designs. Someone wears a cowboy hat on the cover of the game. Please help this is killing me
You’re sure it’s not a star ocean for psp or something? Just making sure!
Yeah it’s for sure a DS game. Played it for like twenty minutes on a flash cart years ago and have since lost that flash cart lol
super robot taisen og saga endless frontier
Was just about to suggest that based solely on the cowboy hat.
That’s it!! Saw this game mentioned online when I looked up “JRPG fighting game DS” and skipped straight over it because obviously it’s not a Super Robot Wars game. Oops
Googling like a boomer will get you far
I’ve had two of these for decades at this point, and they occasionally spring up to torment me for forgetting them beyond these brief flashes
- A PC adventure / maybe puzzle game in the vein of Myst in first-person with the same sort of “each screen is a point of view around the room,” rather than free-form movement. All I can remember about this game is that it features what I remember as a (deactivated or defunct) subway car early on that’s surrounded by tons of red light. Part of me swears there was time travel involved, but I don’t feel sure. I’m guessing this was from around the mid-90s or so
- A vertically-oriented PC (probably Windows) shoot 'em up in a sci-fi sort of setting. You controlled a silver and I think red spaceship on the bottom of the screen, dealing with enemy ships on the top. There were power-ups, but the only one I can really remember had additional ships flanking you that would fire when you did. This one was also probably mid-to-late 90s
Are you possibly thinking of Gadget: Past as Future ?
I don’t think that’s the one. The tone in whatever game I’m thinking of was much darker, with the dominant colors mostly being blacks and reds and the greys / silvers of machinery and the like
