Well, I guess a lot of people will know about this soon enough but former BBC film buffs Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo are launching their own show independently in May.

Live at the Death Factory has been my favorite discovery of the last year. Funny, insightful and non meathead commentary on Scum Cinema.
This was my starter episode, but it is also a good starter if you are worried about the explicit content of the films they cover

I really enjoy this one ā Here Be Monsters. Topics and presentation vary widely from personal stories, interviews, audio art projects, to general thought meandering. It has wonderful production and a pace and tone that makes it perfect for late at night projects or when I'm feeling spacey.

@"yeso"#385 I went to college in Chicago and one of my favorite professors recommended This Is Hell. I still listen when I can. Love that show.
cool podcast called cool people who did cool stuff. itās mostly about the history of various leftists movements or leftists things that happened or cool anarchists across history.
listening to this podcast feels very informative yet it remains very conversational and chill. itās really good

I donāt often listen to podcasts, but since I mentioned J David Osborne and Kelby Losack in the book thread, I thought Iād share their podcast: Agitator.
Every week, they and a special guest discuss a Japanese movie, manga, or anime. They recently did Akira and Serial Experiments Lain. Their first few episodes were mostly about Takashi Miike's movies.
I enjoy Kowabana, a podcast where the host translates Japanese creepy pastas https://www.kowabana.net/
Three Bean Salad is three British comedians riffing off each other and is hilarious. It is scorchingly British though. I mean that in the British accent way, not the racist, imperialist way (it is a very lefty podcast). https://linktr.ee/threebeansalad
I can also recommend Darknet Diaries for good stories from the world of infosec and Crypto Island for an investigative, slightly gonzo look at crypto that does not advocate for crypto.

@āChopemonā#p83993 I enjoy Kowabana, a podcast where the host translates Japanese creepy pastas https://www.kowabana.net/
I do not listen to that podcast but [her Youtube channel](https://www.youtube.com/kowabanajapan) is really cool.
@āchazumaruā#p83994 ah cool, it looks like most of those videos are the podcast audio
@āChopemonā#p83993 enthusiastic second on Three Bean Salad. it gets very Britishly silly at times, and when it hits, it's borderline-brilliant. the musical interludes are inspired, and remind me of The Mighty Boosh. as a Canadian, i found their Canada episode both insightful and utterly bizarre.
started listening because Paul F. Tompkins recommended it on his podcast, [Threedom](https://www.earwolf.com/show/threedom/), which also gets ludicrously funny at its best. it's the lowbrow American version of Three Bean Salad.
EDIT: Benjamin Partridge is one of the hosts of Three Bean Salad, and his other podcast, [Beef and Dairy Network Podcast](https://maximumfun.org/podcasts/beef-and-dairy-network/), is the most straight-faced, conceptual, anti-comedy long-form work of fiction i've ever encountered. he's doing something special with that one.
@āwhatsarobotā#p84122 oh nice! I didn't know about that one.
I found Three Beans through Mike Wozniak and his St. Elwick's podcast which is another Very British comedy podcast https://twitter.com/stelwicksnews?lang=en
@āChopemonā#p84163 and i didn't know about that one! look at us over here, diving into the Three Beaniverse.
Probably only I didnāt know about this, but I only discovered Frank Cifaldiās videogame history podcast yesterday and Iām really digging it.
Frankās a great interviewer!
@āedwardā#p85879 i only started listening to it about a week ago after someone else mentioned it on this forum!
I havenāt talked about it on the forum, but just over a month ago I released the first game Iāve ever been the director and writer for. Surprisingly, it meant enough to someone for them to reach out and have me on their podcast for an interview about it. I'm going to continue not shilling my game on here, but if you wanted to listen to the podcast I think it was a pretty good conversation!

@āFunbilā#p86969
Congrats! I'll give it a listen
Three Bean Salad has become (to me) the funniest podcast there is. it strikes just the right balance between silly nonsense and brilliant iprov competence.
what podcast makes you laugh the most? i need some good laughs. i am aware of the Earwolf family of podcasts and have experienced _mixed results_.
@Chopemon i might need your help with this one.

@āwhatsarobotā#p87482 what podcast makes you laugh the most? i need some good laughs.
I really like a silly trainwreck of a podcast called Dr. Gameshow in which the two hosts play listener submited games with live callers and more often than not the games are terrible and nonsensical. The dynamic between the two hosts is really what makes this show imo.
This podcast has been cancelled from 3 different networks (including Earwolf) because it doesn't have enough listeners and in 2020 the format changed to a zoom call rather than recorded live with guests.
It's a really weird show that can be hard to get into because they have a ton of back history which is often referenced. the fact that the show is so hard to get into is often a joke in the podcast.
If you are into listening to back catalogs I think the beginning of their run with their current network (maximun fun) is a good place to start.
This is actually the podcast that made me get into the car accident that i mentioned a while ago @"ē©“"#p38294
@āē©“ā#p87488 thanks! i like everything you've described here (except for the car accident). the concept itself sounds great, but that back history and co-host chemistry is always what makes a podcast succeed or fail. (case in point: Three Bean Podcast has become funnier to me with each new episode, because i better understand and feel more comfortable with the world the co-hosts have created.)
i will give Dr. Gameshow a listen!
>
@āwhatsarobotā#p87489 he world the co-hosts have created.
Dr. Gameshow definitely has a world of it's own.
Oh and i don't know if you are familiar with the show Joe Pera Talks with You but one of the co-hosts Jo Firestone wrote some episodes and played one of the main characters in it
And [here's a clip ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VSGEwYYIY8)of one of the other co-host doing a stand up bit that i think is brilliant.
@āē©“ā#p87490 i am currently listening to the latest episode (97. Haunted Boxes) and am already lolling pretty non-stop. the bit about āhow old people talkā got me.
i love how unenthusiastic Manolo sounds about everything.
and yes, i am a big, big Joe Pera fan.
