Sorry Marty.
Nobody does it better! It is the screwball rom com with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert at the top of their game, and Capra just nails the direction and pacing. As perfect a Hollywood picture as we’ll ever get.

Re: The Matrix Hat
When Matrix Resurrections was coming out, you could get a free black hat with the title logo and HBO Max written on it. I think it’s still around here somewhere. Not my picture, but it looks like this:
Sad thought: I’d probably have put The Producers (2005) on my list if Matthew Broderick hadn’t been such a cold fish in that otherwise dynamite cast.
watch party /w me and @sapphicvalkyrja let’s go
Parties are scary except in RPGs
Should probably be on my list too…
Scariest type of party?
- House
- Office
- Wedding
- Fancy Dress
- 1st (if it’s Nintendo)
- Political
There’s only one clear answer, as evidenced by the, well…everything
Yeah. If only Sega had won instead.
Peter Sellers “The Party” is the 1st party movie and S-tier compared to the others (though maybe Birdie Nom Nom was a little racist). Not very scary unless you consider rich 70s beverly hills types to be scary.
Kid 'n Play’s House Party is next, but they made like 4 of them which I can only assume got worse and worse.
The Wedding Party looks like a fun Nollywood movie.
Never seen Fancy Dress Party or Political Party.
Scariest one would have to be Office Christmas Party. There was a brief period post-Silicon Valley when comedy movies were trying to make T.J. Miller a star. A scary time indeed.
this list is very safe, except the ones that aren’t. idk i feel exposed
- akira (1988)*
- alien (1979)
- hot fuzz (2007)
- pitch black (2000)
- goldeneye (1995)
- grumpy old men (1993)
- high fidelity (2000)
- the long goodbye (1973)
- memories of murder (2003)
- pig (2021)
