Show Off Specific/Niche Game Aesthetics You Like

how could i forget

Crazy Sensory Overload Psychedelic “Whoa Look At All Those Colors” type games

I love this about No More Heroes, especially 3. It’s just sights and sounds being thrown at you from every direction, and I especially love the splashes of color when you’re slashing aliens. It excites my brain.

And Katamari definitely falls into this for me, there’s so much going on in the world and on the HUD and even during dialog sequences.

I also wanted to post a link to this thread I started a while back about games with “little tiny graphics”.

@milo Might I suggest:

@HyggeState I like chromatic aberration!!

@HyggeState

Never played it but now I think I need to!

Lineless 2D art with really good colors has always struck a very particular center of my tastes

Literally any screenshot from Dustforce illustrates this well

I don’t think any game’s aesthetic has ever wedged itself as far into my psyche as this one. I can’t even think of a good second example! Though there are certainly at least some.

and, yeah, I really don’t need to post this, it goes without saying

Eu7Wz6X

Whatever Cruelty Squad is

@treefroggy

Perfect.

That’s what I’m calling this from now on.

The Catamites

Magic Wand

Goblet Grotto

hell yes! obviously the main game had a very strong aesthetic but it just wasn’t very fun. the DLC courses were super fun and served as fresh fruit for the eyes after the story mode.
