The upcoming winter storm in the Midwest US is so inevitable and intense that the weather channel gave it a human name.
Here in St. Louis, MO we are probably getting at least 6 inches this weekend and some projections have been over 20". We’ve had some snow but overall it’s been a warmer winter by far so we’re looking to get our season’s worth all at once
might be commonplace for some ppl on this forum but for my tropical mind a frozen beach is quite a novelty, snow+sand are two elements i never thought i’d see together like an unexpected crossover episode.
Pictures of Lake Superior in the ice and snow are pretty cool
Meanwhile, here in central Alberta it’s above freezing and raining (usually January has some of our coldest temperatures).
We still have snow on the ground, but it’s supposed to be above freezing most days for the next week? So??
I will check in around February, when the annual snowfall will happen here. Will it be inches or feet? I’m loving all the winter pics!
Shooting on a farm outside Pittsburgh next few weeks and the snow has been crazy. particularly when you’re mounting lights on a roof
When you move across time zones, soon enough you get used to it and settle in. Moving hemispheres on the other hand-
Seasons are flipped. Christmas in 100 degree heat is an unceasingly alien experience. (I converted to Fahrenheit for you heathens)
Thanks for the nice pics. It quenches my snowlust
I think saying that its 100 degrees outside drives home the hotness of it all much more than saying its only 37 ish degrees
saying this as someone recently indoctrinated into the Fahrenheit system… maybe the heathens are on to something
I know it’s not 2024, or the intent of the thread but I just started playing FFXIII and it’s Snow Time y’all.
I think we all enjoy Big Number here.
ahh, home.
A lot of mundane actions become Quick Time Events when it gets below a certain temperature.
