so what has everyone completed this year so far?

in light of me beginning Yakuza of the Caribbean: Starring Captain Jack Majima, I thought “what have I completed so far this year in terms of video games?”

So far this year I’ve completed:
• Huniepop
• Huniepop 2: Double Date
• Stellar Blade
• Another Crab’s Treasure
• Pokemon Emerald (now I gotta find a new airplane game)
• Balatro Golden Needle challenge
• GFL2 Normal Mode (so far… when they releasing new chapters?)

How about you?
(I keep this list in my notes, btw)

I keep a list in the joy of making lists thread that I update with every completed game!

I asked around if there was an actually good porn-ish game and huniepop kept coming up. It was good for a porn-ish game, I imagine a moniker that genre will never escape.

I played and completed Aston: Tears of the Earth early this year. Probably for the 4th time. I can’t get enough of that game.

This might be a dumb question but how accessible is Another Crab’s Treasure for people who aren’t super into action games? I was wondering if it could be a good introduction to the soulslike genre for my gf

I finished Ghost of Tsushima and Deus Ex Mankind Divided so far, both pretty flawed but well made, dense games, had a good time with em.

Are you a pc gamer? My suggestion is Elden ring using wemod cheats like double damage and double defense. It a fun way to tune in the difficulty to how you’re feeling in the moment. It can be set to any multiplier within a .1 increment

whoa didn’t know that was a thing, that sounds fun, I would be curious to play with that myself. haven’t gotten around to playing Elden Ring yet but I’ll keep it in mind.

The only way I replay hard games with beautiful worlds that I kind of only want to be a tourist in the second time through

To begin with it’s pretty forgiving as these games go - plenty of room for error and easily exploitable moves and abilities - but the game also has an accessibility menu where you can fine tune things like damage dealt and damage taken. Would make a great introduction imo

All I’ve finished this year are King’s Field (goated) and Arzette (cute little game). I gotta get back to Terranigma.

I’ve been letting a lot of games hang incomplete, but these are the ones I have completed this year, with a note if completion isn’t straightforward:

  • Princess Maker 2: Regeneration
  • The Sims (complete = getting to highest track of career and maxing most stats)
  • Star Trek Infinite
  • Minecraft (complete = defeat the Ender Dragon)

I haven’t finished any of the RPGs I’ve started this year.

I dialed everything down to easy mode because i’m terribad at souls likes. I was thoroughly entertained! It happened side by side my easy mode Stellar Blade playthrough. Each had their quirks and god help me switching between those control schemes lol
