I have my PC connected to a regular monitor and a TV. On days when I used both, I had to manually change the brightness settings on both the monitor and the TV to adjust to the light in the room/time of day. This program called Twinkle Tray blends perfectly into the Windows UI and lets you easily change the brightness from the taskbar, like laptops do. You can have different settings for each display and schedule it to change at different times of day, dropping the need to tweak it almost entirely. Yet another one of these simple programs that makes you wonder why that wasn’t a built in feature already…
I’m using Watch Duty to track LA wild fires. It’s tremendous.
Any iOS users have a good alternatives to the default Music app? It has some pretty frustrating integrations with Apple Music and in general I wonder if there’s something more customizable out there. Any winners?
foobar, maybe? (…i haven’t tried it, but it seems good, probably?)
just downloaded it and yes this is exactly what I was looking for. Plus apparently you can install custom skins on it which is a huge plus. Thank you!!
I downloaded it for Mac too but sadly the customization options there are limited. Still better than the default one.
Cider. beautiful design. https://cider.sh/
the thing with all these apple music clients though is you don’t get lossless quality.
This looks really cool and the dedicated visual customization page is great, but I don’t use Apple Music. I should have clarified that better, I wanted something to play local files only.
nothing against people who like foobar, but it is an aesthetic and usability disaster in my opinion. it’s the desktop linux of music players.
if you’re in the apple ecosystem this might be a good alternative : Doppler Music Player for Mac and iOS — Brushed Type
