I watched as much as I could take (about half) and I would put it at the absolute bottom of Trek media, under Picard Season 2, VOY s2e5 Threshold, Nemesis, and Into Darkness.

I just got home today after a four-night stay in the hospital. Complications of a ruptured appendix. I’ll be recovering for the next two weeks (cw: gross medical stuff) with a drainage tube sticking out of my abdomen. Feeling lucky to be alive, and grateful to this forum for making me feel a little less lonely after visiting hours ended :’)

Glad you’re doing OK. A loooong time ago I had an unexpected and acute hospitalization too. It sounds like our experiences and interventions were similar. I have a photo that I refer to as “gross tube dot jpeg”. I don’t recommend it!

I got some very good advice from my surgeon at my follow-up. She said that I should take it easy, and listen to my body as I heal. It’ll feel like a long time, but it won’t be that long at all. She also said it’s OK to be upset about it because “you kind of got betrayed by your body!” Chat with your close friends about it. That helped me a lot and they were mostly glad that I was OK.

You’ll get over it and won’t notice that missing appendix sooner than you know!
