So I decided to check my save in ye olde GBA and, boy, I was quick with the first game! I was pretty excited to get the sequel and lost my shit when my dad said he’d get it for me, so it makes some sense.
Now, I spent a long time exploring (getting lost) and grinding for fun in the sequel, so I don’t think this is accurate to HowLongToBeat unless you’re 12 in the early 00s.
I’m cool with that! May be a little while before I start it, I have so many awesome recommendations to at least try first, but if you’re in no rush. Otherwise if you feel the need to play don’t wait for me, but please share how you do. With spoiler tags of course
The weather has been nice lately, so I’ve taken up playing my sp in the sunshine as God intended.
Lots of games itt that I haven’t played, but have or will add to my flashcart. Mostly I’ve been revisiting some old favorites.
I’ve been chipping away at Sacred Stones and having a blast. There’s never enough axe units in these, especially early on.
I want to start up FFTA. I played dozens of hours of it when I was younger. It might be the first game I kept a spreadsheet for. I don’t think I ever actually completed it, though. I’m interested to see if I can make an all girl squad.
I’ve never played Lost Age either, but the idea of playing through Golden Sun again feels intimidating. I don’t want to tarnish a sweet childhood memory. That game meant a lot to me as a kid. The setting sparked my imagination, and the characters expressed their emotions in ways I wished I could. My best friend and I would hike out into nature and pretend we were elemental adepts. I know I could hold those experiences dear, even if I replay it today and notice all it’s flaws. The question is: do I want to?
I remember a friend of mine found a tiny little bug behind the screen lens of his SP back in the day. No idea how it got in there - probably the same way dust gets in sometimes but it was so odd to see the bright white shape of a small insect whenever he turned on his screen light.
I have been playing outdoors so much less since I left socal. This week a made a point of walking to the park to play. I got 700 hit points of damage from the pollen though.
Golden Sun was one of the RPGs I played and abandoned as an early teen because I hadn’t really learned how to chill with a game for an extended sitting. Been catching up with the thread and I think I’m gonna finally make the time.
