@“robinhoodie”#p134679 I got Hatena Satena in tokyo on bankbank‘s recommendation from way back in like 2015 or something.
Recently I got one of the Powa Pro games on GBA, they’re good.
@“treefroggy”#p134683 How have I NEVER seen Dancing Sword - Senkou?!? Jeepers that one is pricey. I feel like this all ends with be buying a stack of flashable carts.
@“robinhoodie”#p134679 I haven't actually played it yet, but Koro Koro Puzzle Happy Panechu is in the same vein as those and was cheap as chips when I got a few months ago - <1000y boxed.

Besides that, The Itsudemo Puzzle: Massugu Soroete Straws is very simple but engaging, and the art is way better than it needs to be for such a smple game.
A lot of classic GBA games are still cheap as imports last I checked. F-ZERO MAXIMUM VELOCITY is known simply as F-ZERO for GAME BOY Advance, which is a pretty sick name for a launch title if you ask me.
@“polm23”#p134696 Koro Koro snagged. The Itsudemo Puzzle: Massugu Soroete Straws is apparently hard to find loose. I guess I will keep my eyes out.
Of course things are a bit stilted in TAS land but this game looks pretty fun? I think I'd ignored it because it was a TMNT licensed game for a “newer” (now 20 years old lol) cartoon.

@“exodus”#p141184 Made by the great Suzuki Gen and the rest of the Ninja Cop / Ninja-Five-O team! When he was already something like 94 years old (slight exaggeration). It’s alright.
I am grateful for my GBA‘s frontlight today as I have finally confirmed that the AGS-001 (and I presume also the AGB-001 but I’m not 100% sure) had a darker screen than the GBC.
@“connrrr”#p142592 it just requires that you touch grass while playing it all the more.
@“◉◉maru”#p141228 definitely gave me that ninja five o vibe, glad it wasn't just in my head!
@“treefroggy”#p142596 I think it's only a problem when playing GB/C games. GBA games are designed with the darkened screen in mind.
@“connrrr”#p142783 you already know. It depends on who you ask, right? according to popular opinion, you’d think it shipped with no screen at all.
Tokimeki GBC on GBA (emulated) and GBC reflective screens. Lighting conditions are different so not an exact comparison but you get a feel for the difference. Also GBA is running GBC emulator so I‘m not sure color is correct. Goomba emulator has option to turn on Super GB borders so that’s cool. Also you see way less grid lines in person so please image them looking smoother.

i‘m enjoying studying these comparisons! the gbc-on-gba thing is much closer to what i think of as the gbc palette, because i basically haven’t played a gbc since i traded mine in when i got a gba! i think i do prefer the slightly higher contrast and lower overall vibrancy? like the gamma point is lower or something.
@“rootfifthoctave”#p142802 GBC has lower contrast and less vibrant irl but more reflective. I think GBC looks better to me in person. Wonderful thing about these reflective screens are you can control the color warmth with different lights. My GBA pic looks cooler since I used 1 lamp and GBC looks warmer since I used 2 lamps. You get different color from different light directions. GBA looks more bronzy when you have lamp on top vs more colorful when shone from bottom. I guess you can get true color of the screens with high noon sun but I love how infinitely analogue they are even though they're digital images. Also phone cameras are complete liars.
Has anyone mentioned how good Mario Tennis for the GBA is yet? If not, Mario Tennis for the GBA is really good.
Today at the DMV I made it through the final stretch of 100%’ing Sonic Advance 1! I was fighting the final boss with Amy as my number was called. Playing on a blue GBA SP AGS-001 with the backlight turned off.
Looking forward to seeing supersonic in this game for the first time when I get back to it. Of course the hardest part I already finished last year, which is getting through the last two unfair special stages.
Amy is pretty fun with her move set based completely on Sonic Adventure 1. Huge hit boxes make up for her handicaps and I’ve had a surprisingly fun and speedy time flying around every stage with her. Lots of bosses seem much easier too.
Woop woop I did it while waiting in another hour and a half long line for someone else haha. Finished sonic advance ! Finally I can play sonic advance 2 and not feel guilty about it… and I get to play around with super sonic while I grind rings for my chao in sonic advance one!
Edit: never mind, you can’t become super sonic for regular stages in SA1!
