@âtokucowboyâ#p141070 yeah, absolutely - I donât mean to diminish the surprise aspect, I had it with the 70 year old man with the metallica shirt! But I also do often think about how soon Iâm gonna be grandpa aged wearing sonic and deathmetal shirts and thatâs gonna be both weird and appropriate. like what if sonic doesnât really exist when I'm 70, having gone the way of felix the cat or something. fun stuff to think about, kinda
@âJackâ#p131246 did u get the diablos tho
Did not purchase this ($40!) but here is something I never thought I'd see in a half price books - pornography oriented toward gay men on Laserdisc! According to the Laserdisc database only 10 people own this. Talk about a specific product, this one is it.
(I think this is okay to post since the cover is censored)

@âexodusâ#p141199 It cracks me up that one of the porn stars is just billed as The Porn Star.
@âTophâ#p141215 omg I think the first image (cover) got disappeared because of how naked that guy was
must've been some algorithmic biz because no genitals were visible.
This is why I make time to volunteer at my local thrift store. I got all of this for $26. Galactic Pinball is sealed!
Found something
>!
(observe the spine)
the introduction glides right into chapter 1 (accompanied by a change in line spacing)
>
Why is it like this?
@âcaptainâ#p147738 bizarre! Maybe somebody thought this would be a step past cliff's notes??
@âcaptainâ#p147738 I can't stop looking at this.
The addition of "Book" to the title on the spine, the frankly PAINFUL way chapter one begins at the end of the page with the text styled totally differently from the introduction, and maybe the best part, "Pride and prejudice" listed under Themes. It all reads like Chatgpt but copywrite 2019??
As a book designer and typographer I feel like I'm looking at the classic reprint equivalent of outsider art. Amazing.

The culture projected in the novel is that of the Classic English society (United Kingdom)
I thought maybe it could have been printed for a secondary English-language market (published in Köln), but the intro and back matter explain things that are so fundamental in a variety of cultures that that wouldn't quite explain it. It's all the more strange because the novel itself is printed as-is, it's not like the body text was modified for ease of understanding. Who is this for? Pride and Prejudice BOOK??
i've seen less subtle german publications
@âtomjonjonâ#p145425 wow I need to look for local thrift volunteer opportunities asap
Just another beach laptop
Either Iâve seen many of these lately or ive seen this one bounce around the tweaker community this month. Unless it gets buried in the sand I donât believe this will be its final resting place either.
At the southernmost public shower of Santa Monica.
Buckets and buckets of CRTs of all sizes at a thrift store in Ventura countyâ sad!
Seen from my window on the Amtrak ;o)
who up to go to ventura and commit some morally correct crimes?
Went to a couple country thrift stores out here in central Washington. Saw this bad boy for $20. âDoor donât openâ. Didnât get it because I donât have room to carry it on the bus back home + walk from train station to the pier.
Meanwhile, a local game shop has monopolized the entirety of Yakima county, where rent price should be cheap, and yet, everything seems grossly overpriced, nothing under $130 seems to exist consoles wise. Though PS2 games can still be got for $15. Seeing the rack of $15 PS2 games with decent stuff like Harvest Moon on it reminds me of the days when thatâs where From Software titles like armored core and kingâs field could be found.
($550/$600 3ds btw)
This is a Sega hat I found at Goodwill, but itâs not a SEGA hat. But Iâm going to wear it like a SEGA hat, because everyone will perceive it as a SEGA hat
