Saw a beautiful sunrise.

I built this for my little rescue lizard and I am proud of how well it turned out.

Last year I was an intern at a grad school library that was on a highway kinda in the middle of nowhere, thus inaccessible by public transit. So the school had a bus service for employees and students. The bus ā€œstationā€ was just a random parking lot downtown and one of the employees was always very friendly and nice in a smalltalk chit-chatty way specifically to me. Found it a tiny bit weird but didn’t think much of it at the time. My internship period came to and due to funding cuts they couldn’t hire me full time and if I wanted to come back as an intern they would pay me even less (was already below minimun wage). So I quit.

On saturday I had some errand to do downtown and there wasn’t any on street parking cause of some event and I ended up parking at the place that functions as the school’s bus station. Saw the old man who was always nice to me and said it was nice to see me again, and we did some small talk.

I did my errand and came back. When I was leaving and paying for the parking he told me that the reason he was always happy to see me last year is because he has a trans niece, and he was happy to see other trans women going on and about with their day in public. I almost cried in front of him.

I have added the final details to my reptile enclosure.

While I was certainly proud of it before, I’m only just now realizing that I have built an entire zoo exhibit in my home.

Spotify recommendations suddenly kicked it up a notch:

I’m a new fan of another podcast now! Letting @esper and @jaffe know in case they’ve missed this wondeful topic.

Went in for a job interview today, scheduled another for tomorrow, and finally got done a bunch of chores and administrative tasks I’d been putting off :)

I think with the improvements I’ve made to my routines and personal organization over the last couple months I might be ready to try ADHD meds again.

We needed to move our lease breaking kittens out of the apartment 6 weeks ago when we let the landlord know we were moving so they could inspect the place and show it to new people. We got everyone back together over the weekend and after a tense day of reintroduction, everyone is getting along better than ever and I’m melting inside.

Life’s end… isn’t it beautiful?

This evening a little girl climbed up a small tree and shouted ā€œThank You!ā€ While I was working on the powerlines to get their power back on. Later on I got to eat banana pudding. Pretty solid evening.

Won an online auction for a CD copy of Medicine’s debut album Shoot Forth Self Living and noticed the seller lived a 20 minute walk from me, so went and picked it up same afternoon. Nice!

This took me down a scenic new path through the neighbourhood I hadn’t taken before. A foresty area dipping down into a little valley of sorts of rocky terrain. Saw some lush greenhouses, kids playing in the schoolyard after hours, met a bunny, three dogs and a duck hanging around outside the subway station. On the way home we got some discount potato chips at a supermarket.

Currently lying in bed listening to the album, good day.

My son just lost his third tooth this morning! To be fair, it was very wobbly and required a tiny pull to remove it, but came out quite easily. He’s mostly excited because the tooth fairy mouse brings him five Pokemon cards every time he loses a tooth!!!

I enjoy playing the part of the tooth fairy mouse - which makes more sense if you know in France it’s not a fairy, but a petit souris (little mouse) that brings you things when you lose a tooth.

Time for get on my tail and tutu…

Found the turtles near my house again. Looks like most of them moved further downstream (there was a lot of construction going on by their original spot for a long time, so I can relate).

About a week ago I got a plumber in to service my boiler. He spent no more than 10 minutes here said that my boiler needed to be removed and to get a new boiler and quoted me four grand for the pleasure. My boiler is slightly enclosed in a kitchen cupboard and is a little awkward to get to and I suspect that he saw that I was trying to sell my house and tried to pull a fast one on me.

This morning I got another guy in and he went above and beyond to work around the awkwardness of the fitting. He charged me 90 quid and was a lovely bloke to chat to. Thanks guy!

last night i dreamt that the dog my parents had when i was a kid was still alive and i got to hug her again. then today at work, a dog who looked a lot like her came into the shop - her owner was sitting outside, but the dog was hanging out inside so she wouldn’t get too hot in the sun. she was carrying around a tennis ball, dropping it, and batting it away with her paw so it would bounce off the wall and back to her.

eventually, she sat directly in the doorway, so i went to lure her out of the way. for the next 10-15 minutes i played with her to keep her distracted. she was so sweet and very fluffy  i didn’t learn her name but i love her.
