A thread in which to introduce oneself

hello!

first time caller, long time listener and just realizing I should actually hop on these forums!

a bit about me: I do computers real good, try to be the best father I can to my son and the best husband I can be to my wife. I like to cook and bbq things, I read manga and play tabletop and card games like Clank!, Magic: the Gathering and the occasional Pokemon TCG match! I recently learned how to sew and want to figure out how to garden this summer!

Hi, I’m moosii. I started listening to insert credit recently because I needed things to listen to during my shifts at work and Tim Rogers had mentioned the show a few times on action button. Joining the forums because I have never really been an active forum member anywhere before and wanted to try it out.

Thank you! ^^ It’s a character from one of my favorite manga, Game Club by Imitation Crystal (also known as Mozou Crystal).

ooooo sewing is like a final frontier for me, what helped you not get mad at how small it is and how big your dumb hands are?

Hi there, I’m Isosceles or Bananabibi, (the age range of 18 years old to 21 years old) and I would like to be friend with people that age range. I have autism and adhd. I modded my New Nintendo 3DS/2DS console that was in Japanese to play some Japanese games in English and play and immerse/learn to play some games that are exclusive to Japan, and part of the DS and 3DS game cartridges.
I came to this site for 3ds/2ds friend codes and need some friendly people who have Japanese region or English/different country region consoles. And only from the official Nintendo friend codes, via spotpass and as Swapdoodle and/or Irusato Kokan Nikki (same thing as swapdoodle, but in the Japanese language). Nice to meet you, and if you are around my age, and like cute/kawaii stuff let’s be friends!

Hi all!

I’m Sam (they). I’m a mechanical engineer and a lifelong Metroid superfan, and I just enjoy talking about games in general. Recent (to me) games that I’ve liked are the La-Mulanas, Riven, Faxanadu, Crimzon Clover, and Lumines: Remastered. Other than gaming, I like the mess with digital art in my free time, when I’m not distracted chasing yet another technical hobby (it’s PICO-8 at the moment). My favorite color is Cornflower Blue and my favorite math symbol is ∇. Nice to meet you all!

more adults should introduce themselves by saying their favorite colors, we leave that habit pretty early on.

I have to say I’m pretty big on teal myself and if pressed would probably say it’s my favorite color too :o

You’re speaking my language!!! We’ve got a thread for talking about shmups if you’re interested in others along the lines of Crimzon Clover. I’m sure we must have had a conversation about that before, and if not we’ve certainly got a lot of people who would like to have one lol

It seems like almost every time I play a new scrolling shooter I find myself thinking I’d rather just be playing Crimzon Clover yet again. I especially can’t get enough of this level.

I’m still pretty new to the genre but I’m definitely interested in checking out more. Also, that level probably is my favorite

Welcome to a very cool place!

I’ve worked as a teacher of younger kids for a few years and have therefore been asked a number of times in my adult life to name a favorite color. I don’t like to put myself into a box like that which is why the likely truth is appropriate: my favorite color is blankness itself, white.

Please, what is your favorite metroid?

If you like La Mulana and Crimzon Clover you’ll probably get a kick out of the games of System Erasure if you haven’t already played them

My favorite metroid is alpha, and my favorite Metroids are Prime 2 and Zero Mission.

I keep seeing ZeroRanger pop up, looking at it more, it does seem up my alley!

Hey everyone.
My name is Gabriel. I used to be a professional game reviewer, but now just do my own thing.
Such as this thread elsewhere in the forum: I'm spending 2025 playing & reviewing Action-Adventure games that star guys with swords.

I’m not really the talk-about-myself type, so yeah…

Welcome and good luck on your many quests!

I can only imagine reviewing has its share of grind, but is there a particular series/game/genre you discovered you loved while on the job?

Honestly, not a whole lot comes to mind. The job never really gave me time to discover a new love. Everything started to become disposable when I was writing 2+ reviews a week. The only time I was ever happy was when I got to write about shmups, arcade ports, anything retro.
