Cool, I‘ll give all this another look - marrow of a bone came out while they were touring with Korn and I was like… well… that’s the end of me and them I guess. ha ha. I never listened since.
Sukekiyo sounds like it might be more my speed, leaning more toward the goth side than the numetal side.
@exodus#7101 I just went to that museum they are performing in a few years back, I recognized it immediately! If you find yourself with some free time in Chicago definitely check out the International Museum of Surgical Science, a real hidden gem.
I hadn't heard of this band, thanks for sharing!
Incidentally, the subsequent time I visited Chicago was to see the legend Yoko Taro himself at the Nier live concert. It was not quite as spectacular as the performances in Japan I’ve seen in videos, but I was in awe of my man with the mask.
@tapevulture#24731 As someone who normally plays smaller shows, there‘s been a weird shift. Here in the UK, there’s a (most likely foolish) general feeling that venues will be able to operate semi-normally from around September, but nobody wants to book bigger bands just in case.
The end result is that IF shows are happening by then, my books are basically full from September until the end of the year, including a tour with a fairly well-known band (pending final confirmation), some decent bookings for my own bullshit band, and a few more good gigs with a band I play drums in. All in venues bigger or higher-profile than would normally be the case.
I started exploring The Protomen this week—beyond just Light Up The Night, as seen in that Rugrats meme—and I‘m falling pretty hard. When we’ve finally settled more comfortably into this new World of Ruin, I'm 100% hunting for a way to see them live.
EDIT: Looks like the Rockpalast YouTube deleted this for some reason. For future reference it was ZZ Top Live At Rockpalast 1980. Anyway, check out what they do have up.
