there’s an anecdote in Anthony keidis’s autobiography about how psyched they were to work with Andy Gill on their first record and they put a ton of effort into this song “Police Helicopter” then one day he happened to glance at this notebook Gill was using and saw he’d just written the words “Shit Helicopter” (credit to the tom scharpling show that’s where I heard it)

The tribe I belong to was part of a three tribe nation, one of which extended into southern Ontario. I looked into getting duel citizenship but I don’t think it’s going to happen. It turns out it’s hard to find a Canadian lawyer who specializes in native law and immigration.

Some good news:
Went to a demonstration last night to protest the Children’s Hospital LA pausing their gender affirming care for minors (despite no legal obligation to do so)…
The turnout was amazing and it was incredibly bolstering to see the amount of joy and support from drivers honking and waving as they went by or sat at the light.
Today CHLA walked back their decision to ban offering puberty blockers and HRT! There is still a pause on GA Surgeries, so, still work to be done on that front, but it’s a tangible response to resistance, and hopefully this little win can nourish more.
Protests and calls to CA’s attorney general will continue to reverse any unlawful lack of access to healthcare.

To be honest, it would be pretty dope that certain tribes would have the advantage of having several nationalities or a special kind of citizenship (in the EU we have the Schengen pass board, in which you can travel to several countries of the Union freely).

Yeah… we don’t even get what the treaties say we should have; Such as Chicago in 1914 which according to law should belong to the Potawatomi. A relative tried to sue for it but of course he did not win.
